damon pulled into the driveway of the gallagher residence, and the two of them exited the car, damon grabbing juno's bag from the back seat for her. damon didn't want to walk her to the door, for the sole reason that he didn't want to start anything with noel, and especially liam. he handed her her backpack, before opening the car door to grab something from the center console.
juno's brows furrowed as damon handed her a black CD case.
"open it later". he said simply.
juno smiled and engulfed damon in a hug, wrapping her arms around his neck. damon stumbled backwards a bit, before squeezing his arms around her waist, giving her a kiss on the head.
"see you soon, damon". juno said, pulling back a little bit so she could see his face.
damon leaned down, and pressed his lips into juno's softly, giving her a small, but passionate kiss.
"bye love, call me, okay"? he said, patting juno's shoulder.
"will do, bye"! juno smiled, entering the house.
damon got back inside his car, and began the long drive from manchester to london. the ride up was much more fun, he felt lonely driving home in the gloomy england weather. meanwhile, juno was sitting in the living room, totally getting shit from the gallaghers, who had seen her interaction with damon in the driveway.
"oh damon, i love you so much, have my babies"! noel swooned in a high pitch voice.
"oh juniper, come here babygirl, come give me a snog". liam mocked damon, forcing a terrible cockney accent.
"he doesn't even sound like that"! juno exclaimed, pushing past the two laughing brothers and into the kitchen to grab a beer.
"listen, you two. i've written some great songs, but if you lot keep this up, i'm not sharing them with you". juno said as she walked back into the living room, using her teeth to open the bottle of beer.
"fine, fine". noel replied.
"let's see 'em then". liam said, sitting down on the couch beside juno.
"noel, would you be a darling and grab my journal from my backpack"? she asked, motioning to the black backpack on the floor.
noel grabbed the book, and handed it to juno, who flipped through the pages, trying to find the ones she had written for this album, eventually landing on 'don't look back in anger'.
"okay so, this one is just lyrics, i have a couple more songs with guitar chords". juno said as noel and liam looked at the lyrics.
"i like this one". liam said after a few second of silence as they read.
juno then flipped to 'wonderwall', which was the song she had written that night when noel was at her place. the page was littered with lyrics, as well as some guitar chords, and little arrows pointing up and down, representing the strumming pattern.
"holy shit juno, this is brilliant. can we hear you play it"? noel beamed. he wanted to get a feel for the guitar chords, as well as the tempo and beat.
"yeah sure, pass me your guitar, the acoustic one". juno said, noel jumping up and grabbing his iconic gibson j-150, as well as a 0.50mm pick and a capo, handing them to juno.
juno placed the capo onto the second fret, and began playing the chord progression that she had configured.
"today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you".. juno sang.
"by now, you should've somehow realized what you gotta do. i don't believe that anybody.. feels the way i do.. about you now. back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out. i'm sure you've heard it all before but you've never really had a doubt. i don't believe that anybody feels the way i do, about you now. and all the roads we have to walk are winding. and all the lights that lead us there are blinding. there are many things that i would like to say to you, but i don't know how. because maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me, and after all, you're my wonderwall". juno sang up until the first chorus, giving the brothers a feel for the song.
juno didn't sing for oasis, but boy could she ever sing. she had a raspy voice, comparable to courtney love, or even june cash. liam sat there, starstruck. hearing juno singing really made him realize how badly he fucked up, and how lucky he was to have had her.
"that's fuckin' brilliant juno, holy shit". noel grinned, patting juno on the back.
"it's really fucking good juno. amazing". liam smiled, he was disappointed in himself for letting her go, he wished he had done things differently.
"that's going on the album for sure. would you want to sing it"? noel asked. he had always wanted juno on vocals, but she felt too shy when it came to recording.
"absolutely not. i'll leave that to liam". juno replied. she loved singing, but hated having eyes on her. that's why she was a bassist, and not the frontman. however, that kind of backfired, considering she was the only girl in the band, giving her all the male attention.
"awh come on juno, you sound incredible". liam said.
"not happening". she replied.
after a bit of chit chat about the album, the three went their separate ways. juno headed up to her bedroom to unpack, noel on the phone downstairs with tony, telling him about the songs, and liam went out to do god knows what.
