After what happened in that hallway we ran to the exit, Albert led us to a heli pad that had a helicopter on stand by. By the time we were in the air and out of range there was an explosion, the facility caved in. Reducing itself to rubble. Me and Albert shared a look, though we seemed to stay. Talking without words to one another... I understand why. After all, I finally made a decision. I finally chose. I betrayed my friends, my family... and I didn't care.
"We're approaching the safe house sir!" One of the pilots said over their headsets, I readjust the one on my head feeling the metal on the left side digging into my ear. "Eta five minutes."
"Any word from the others?"
"No sir, comms are radio silent," the pilot said in response.
That five minutes seemed to drag by even though in reality I'm sure it went by faster then it should've. The heli landed in the middle of a clearing that was surrounded by trees for miles it looks like. "Sir we've arrived," the co-pilot stated as they turned the rotors off. Albert took his headset off causing me to do so as well.
"Stay here for a bit, see if you can get anything on the radio. If you hear nothing within the next hour feel free to use the guest housing to your advantage."
"We're not at a facility?"
"Not technically," he answered, exiting the heli waiting for me so I could follow him. We walked for a few minutes as I stared at the large cabin that's hidden by the trees.
"Kind of in the middle of nowhere," I pointed out.
"That was the idea." Once we reached the door, he opened it so I could go in first. I turned the light switch on, illuminating the lavish room. Red and gold colors painting the room with warmth, inviting me in. To my right a chimney with a couch across from it. A hallway that leads somewhere else on the right next to the chimney. To the left a door, must be a bedroom. "Smaller than what I usually prefer," he smirked, "The kitchen is down the hall, master bedroom on the left beyond that door. There's a downstairs to make up for the lack of space up here. Oh, and the bathroom is in the bedroom on the left, and there's a spare downstairs as well."
"It's nicer than any cabin I've ever seen," I admitted. Suddenly Albert's hand lightly pressed my chin up so he could inspect the wound I previously had.
"I couldn't even move I was so, perplexed. Frozen, stunned... You took a bullet meant for me." He sighed, "First you save me from Roth, and now you've fought against your friends. You betrayed them for me," he grabbed my chin pulling it down a little so we could lock eyes. "Why would you do that, even for me... even after you've told me why I still..." he shook his head from side to side.
"Je t'aime," I whispered, without a word he placed a gentle kiss to my forehead.
"I know," he paused, "Let's get you cleaned up," he took my hand in his, leading me through the room only to enter the bathroom. He turned on the shower, putting his hand under the water to make sure it was getting warm. "I'll get you a change of clothes."
"Albert," he halted, slowly turning to look at me. I grew nearer to him, grabbing his face in my hands before placing a tender kiss upon his lips... surprising him. I pulled away, slowly as I gazed into his perfect eyes. I began to unbutton his shirt, removing it from his shoulders once I finished. He gave me a look, understanding. I raised my arms above my head as he grabbed the rim of my dress shirt, taking it off of me gently. I turned around, bowing my head a little as I felt him unclip my bra. I felt his lips place soft tender kisses at my neck, down to my shoulder before resting his hands on the sides of my arms for a moment.
Discarding the rest of our clothes we entered the shower, I turned around to face him as he put some soap in his hand. "Close your eyes," I did so, seconds later I felt his hand massaging my throat as the water streamed down from my head. I felt his hand leave my skin as he pulled me nearer, out from under the water. He smoothed back my hair as I opened my eyes, Albert smiled just a little as he ran his fingers through my hair. Shampoo causing bubbles to form in his hand and on my head. I mirrored his expression as I followed his actions, getting some shampoo from the bottle only to massage it into his hair causing him to smile wider.
