"Did I miss anything?" I questioned playfully upon entering the quiet lab drawing the gazes of everyone in the room.
"Hardly," Albert finally responded, allowing a smirk to quirk the end of his lip upwards. Though his expression fell when Ransom entered the room behind me, I get the feeling his eyes are staring holes into the poor guy. "Everything go accordingly?"
"Ya," Ransom cleared his throat, "I mean, yes... it was, great." I caught Alan's narrowed eyes, sensing his curiosity as per usual... however, it seems like he wants to say something.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but the lab next door has a few tests to conduct. Doctor Jennings will escort you there, Ransom." He simply nodded his head before Talia sauntered over to us, a kind smile from cheek to cheek.
"Come on," she gestured to the door, "Don't worry I'll be with you the entire time." Ransom chuckled softly, brows raising just a little at her statement.
"Right," he massaged the back of his neck. "See you later Anastasia," he started to back away before halting and stepping towards me again. "And, thank you... so much, for everything," I gave him a polite nod before he followed Talia out the door.
"Anastasia, doing better I see?" Martin smiled kindly after glancing into the microscope as Albert wrote something down in a notebook.
"You could say that," I walked over to Albert, planting my feet beside him before nudging him lightly with my elbow.
"Yes?" He tried to hold back a smile, and front a 'I'm busy' sort of tone but it failed miserably. A charming smile painted his lips, and his tone filled with a sort of joy that gives my stomach butterflies. "Something I can do for you?"
"Well..." I smirked as I glanced over his notes, being nosy for no reason.
"Well what Anastasia?" I returned my gaze to his pale face that has a touch of gold, it seems, on his cheeks as I waited for his eyes to meet mine. When his chin turned, and his face tilted down a little to focus on me I finally replied.
"Just wanted to make sure you haven't broken any glass," despite the black shades covering his eyes, I could tell he rolled them.
"Not yet, but I presume I won't be able to now that you're here," I simpered.
"Debatable."
"Wesker," Martin beckoned, lips parting a little from awe it seemed.
"What is it?"
"Take a look," he stood upright as he stepped aside allowing Albert to access the microscope.
"Is this sample from Anastasia?"
"Yes," Albert slowly stood, eyes shifting to mine for a moment as he grabbed his chin.
"What's wrong with my blood exactly?"
"Nothing, but..." Martin shook his head a little, "The virus bonded with your blood so well that it is self sustaining. The virus, even outside your body is still active inside your DNA, it's... very strange."
"I suppose it is," I crossed my arms as Alan approached us.
"Now we have more questions," Albert shook his head from side to side. "Ransom has had a longer time to bond with the virus, and still has traces of it in his blood... but, his samples are less active. In fact, they seem to be dying," I raised a brow.
"Meaning what, exactly?"
"The T2 Serum may only be temporary, or perhaps it just takes longer to rid the host of the virus." Martin sighed, "Truth is, we don't know. It could mean anything," Albert turned around before dropping his hands to his sides, leaning on the table seconds later.
