"You make it impossible not to my Anastasia," I placed a tender kiss on his forehead. Hesitating in my current position, wanting to stay nose to nose with him. There was a slight pause as his expression faded away, eyes suddenly shrouded in uncertainty. "I must ask, what comes next? For you and I?"
"I guess we'll just have to suffer each other's company." I stated, sarcasm oozing from my tone. Albert chuckled softly, "One thing I know for sure, we're stuck together," I pointed out with a smirk just before massaging the back of my neck. Albert studied me with a narrowed gaze, sure that I would run off at any moment.
"Even if that means turning your back on your friends?" I sat up, sighing before I continued.
"I guess we'll find out when the time comes," I replied, shoulders shrugging. Albert sat up as well, I rested my arms around his neck. Fingers smoothing back his hair only to mess it up again, gaining a simper from his lips as they curved yet again.
A sudden knock at the door caught us both off guard as we exchanged a glance of frustration. I sighed softly before getting off of him so he could get dressed, I did the same. Grabbing my clothes only to throw them on for temporary purposes, "Mr. Wesker, an incident has occurred in the lab."
"One second," Albert said in response, pulling a black button down over his shoulders. I approached him only to slowly button his shirt, and smooth it out.
"I'll let you tuck your shirt in," I peered up at him, Albert smirked with a devilish look in his reddish orange eyes.
"Are you sure?" I lightly punched his shoulder causing us both to laugh. "Can I see you later?"
"Assuming you can get rid of me?" He raised a brow, "I'm coming with you."
"Even better," he placed a tender kiss to my temple. Shortly after tucking his shirt in, "Ready?" I gave him a nod, he walked over to the door. Leaving it open as I followed after him, I shut the door behind me.
"Ah, Anastasia. It is good to see you, I was worried." Martin gave a warm smile, "I trust all is well?" Me and Albert locked eyes for a moment daring to laugh a little.
"Everything is, perfect," I replied. Martin raised a single brow, catching on to what was quietly implied. "So, what's the problem Martin?"
"I'll explain on the way," he stated the moment he began to move, feet stepping down the hall until we reached the elevator. "There is a genetic anomaly, something I found in Ransom's latest blood test. The elevator opened causing us to enter, "You see, normally the blood work only showed the T serum fighting against the virus..."
"And now?" Albert inquired, Martin's face fell to a frowning expression.
"The virus has multiplied from nothing to a problem. We may have to inject him with the serum once again, but I'm not sure if it will work. It may be nothing, just a reoccurrence of the virus before it dies..."
"Or we have a bigger problem on our hands..." I sighed, "Instead of curing him, can we regulate the ratio between the virus and subject? I mean, that seems to be the outstanding issue. The patients couldn't control the C Virus so it took over instead, however if we could find a way to create a balance between control and chaos..."
"We may not have to cure them at all," Martin finished my sentence. "That's not a bad theory. I'll have a lab look into it," Martin paused, "I don't know, maybe I am overreacting. This virus is progressively getting more out of hand, I'm not sure how much longer it'll be before we can find the proper solution."
"Would having the original samples help?" Martin's eyes locked on mine as his expression lightened a little.
"Definitely, I believe Alan or Roth... took the last sample because I was attempting something new. It was working, he was helping... That's when he left and things went wrong. There was an occurrence he caused to distract everyone, that's when he stole my notes and the sample for the new serum."
