"Is he... still alive?" Albert's eyes remained locked on Ransom as a moment of silence passed without warning. Ransom began to frown, assuming the silence meant what he already assumed.

"Yes, he is," Albert finally responded, "He has a procedure tomorrow in fact."

"He is?" Ransom leaned into his hands, covering his mouth as his eyes reddened.

"He's expected to make a full recovery," Albert admitted, I couldn't suppress my own shock.

"I don't know what to say," Ransom mumbled, hand sliding up his face to shield his eyes from us.

"I can arrange a meeting with him for you," he stated, politeness clouding his stiff tone. Seems like he's just trying to be nice, but he's not used to it so Albert doesn't know how to act... strange, maybe it's just me.

"Really?" Albert gave him a firm nod of his head, "Now?"

"If you want," he paused, "Unfortunately it will have to be over video chat, and someone will have to be in the room with you... for security purposes."

"Okay," he chuckled softly, finally revealing his face where a small smile resides. His eyes are still a little red as he quickly wipes away a rogue tear, "I'll take what I can get." A sudden frown took the shape of his lips.

"What's wrong?" I inquired, Ransom tilted his head a little as he averted his eyes from mine.

"I left him, to come here..." he shook his head, "I left him for strangers to take care of him. I'm his brother, and he probably hates..."

"Ransom," I captivated his attention, "You did what you thought was best. I'm sure he misses you," I pointed out. Ransom smoothed his hair back with a soft exhale, lips pulling into a firm line.

"Guess I'll find out soon enough," I nodded in agreement. "Thank you," he said, eyes locking with Albert's. Albert simply gave him a respectful nod, not knowing how to say the words 'you're welcome' apparently.

"When you're ready, all I have to do is make a call." He paused, chin tilting slightly, "I have an associate with your brother."

"For what?" I questioned, Albert peered over at me.

"To make sure he gets his treatments, that he's treated well, and so he wouldn't be thrown in a foster home that wouldn't take care of him." Albert answered within an instant, Ransom's eyes only filled with more bewilderment.

"Like I said," I smirked at Ransom, "He's not that scary."

"What?" Ransom's eyes widened causing Albert to chuckle, "I never said that." Ransom's gaze narrowed, looking away from me as I simpered.

"I'll take your plate," Albert said softly, taking my plate in his hands and walking away.

"I feel like none of this is happening..."

"Like it's a dream, don't worry if it is you won't wake up," I joked.

"Right," he laughed a little as he finished his food. Albert sat back down, finally eating his food as Ransom sat in silence... probably lost in thought.

I leaned against the wall, eyes glued on Albert as he crossed his legs. Turning in his chair a little as he spoke to his associate on the other end of his phone. Head in the clouds? Just looking at him. That's not an answer Precious... but you've become rather fond of that. Of what gazing at him while he's not paying attention? Of course I have, it reminds me... Of what? That he's just a man? One that I care for, but yes. He really did surprise you today, didn't he? Aren't you impressed? This is the man who seems like he hasn't a heart, a man who kills without feeling, and mercilessly. Strange he's letting Ransom go... do you really believe he will? After all, he's still a villain. Who's to say he wasn't lying? He wasn't. How do you know? I have faith in him. "Yes, fifteen minutes?" My head snapped back to reality, eyes searching Albert's when he removed his glasses. "That's perfectly fine, yes. Just use yours," he nodded his head. "Thank you," he hung up the phone.
