The way of water has no beginning and no end.

A little over a year had passed since a certain Omaticaya girl and Metkayina boy became one soul.

The sea is around you and in you. The sea is your home, before your birth and after your death.

Ronal had given birth to a beautiful baby girl—Aseya, who is now one year old.

Our hearts beat in the womb of the world. Our breath burns in the shadows of the deep.

While she still waited earnestly for her son and his mate to bear a child of their own, she had no idea what her son was capable of.

The sea gives and the sea takes.

Perhaps, soon Lia and Aonung will have their little mini-me too. Whenever it may be, Jake was still in denial of his grandpa era.

Water connects all things, life to death, darkness to light.

In the same way, the bad things bound to those of good are inevitable. For that is the way of life—the outcome merely depends on what one makes of it.

"Sullys stick together," Kiri mumbled, rolling her eyes as she did so. "Listen, when will you have a baby so dad can stop pestering us?"

"Kiri," Lia hissed, vexed by her sister's inability to remain silent.

The prolemuris tilted its head, its ears moving about to the sound of Kiri's voice. Within a brief second, it let out a cry and swung away.

Lia sighed, lowering her bow and arrow as she shot Kiri a look.

"What?" Kiri shrugged, unaffected. "I'm just saying. Ever since you and King of the sea got together, dad won't even let me hang out with Rotxo alone."

"Now what would you and Rotxo be doing alone together?" Lia raised an eyebrow at her sister.

"Uh," she stuttered, suddenly averting her gaze. "Just... normal stuff. Like, looking at seashells."

"Normal stuff? Looking at seashells?" Lia shrugged. "Sounds like a date to me."

"We are not dating!"

"Sure, call it what you will."

"Ugh," Kiri rolled her eyes as she followed after Lia.

The two sisters were out on a hunt in the jungle. It had only been recently since Lia decided to bring out her bow and arrow.

Although time had passed, she couldn't help but wonder if Kiri had ever thought about Spider. Since the day they had arrived at Awa'atlu, her sister had barely mentioned him.

She didn't dare ask, as it might be a sensitive topic for Kiri.

"Can we go back now? I'm exhausted."

A playful smile spread across Lia's face. "So you can go meet loverboy? You're free to go anytime, Kiri."

"No!" She gasped. "Why do people think we like each other? Ugh, I'm leaving!"

Lia chuckled as she watched her sister stomp back toward shore, carrying a basket full of ovumshrooms.

In preparation for tomorrow, most men and women spent today hunting and foraging. It was a common practice that every year, former village members would come to visit Awa'atlu and stay for around a month or so.
