Author's Note:

My apologies for the tears, heart attacks, and mistrust caused by the last chapter! <3

April Fool's Day just couldn't be avoided.

But, um, it might be awkward to say that this one will be the same... 😔 Even I cursed at myself for my own chapters.

Still, I love y'all! 🤍

"Go rest inside."

Aonung kissed her temple and gestured for her to enter their Marui.

"W-Wait, where are you going?" Her eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"I'm just going to assist the others. I'll see you in a bit, baby," he said, squeezing her hand gently.

Lia nodded as she watched him walk back to where they came from.

As long as he wasn't in the water, then her heart could rest easy for now.

With a heavy sigh, she pulled aside the curtain to her Marui only to find it empty. There was no sign of the girls.

On her way back with Aonung, she hadn't seen them in the crowd. Where could they have gone off to?

In contemplation of the possibilities, she walked rapidly back toward shore. There was still chaos as people ran from place to place.

It wasn't until she bumped into a sturdy chest that she realized she was rushing.

"Lia?" Luam held her arms to steady her as she stared up at him.

"Luam! Have you seen my sisters?" She asked, looking around in the pouring rain.

"Isn't that them in the water over there?" He pointed to the sea, where Kiri and Tuk were traveling on an ilu to follow Neteyam, Rotxo, Aonung, and Tsireya.

They were headed toward the reef and she didn't know why.

As soon as she realized the reason, her eyes grew wide. "Payakan. They're following Loak!"

"What? Why are they—"

"Come on! We have to follow them!" She exclaimed, pulling Luam along with her as she called for the ilu.

Lia gestured for Luam to mount the creature as it emerged from the water. Despite his confusion, he mounted the ilu anyway as she positioned herself behind him.

"Go! Follow after them!" She smacked his shoulders repeatedly as he nodded.

"Okay, okay!"

Taking off together, they chased after the rest of the gang. While diving through the waves, Lia held tight to him to keep herself from falling.

After passing over the reef and crashing through the raging sea, they soon reached the rest of the gang. As she looked ahead, she saw the boys attempting to pull out the red tracker injected in Payakan.

Aonung halted when he caught Lia's eye from a distance as she and Luam approached them.

"What the hell are you doing here, babe?!" He yelled, suddenly furious at her for coming despite her pregnancy.
