"So this is where all the magic happens?" My sister exclaimed as she followed closely behind me. "I mean, I've seen pictures of the field, but experiencing it firsthand is a different matter."
"Yeah," I murmur while watching a few other teammates make it on the field. From afar, I can see Coach Flores and Coach Reynolds
Deep conversation between Coach Reynolds and Coach Flores. Reynolds appeared to be resisting Caoch Flores' attempts to persuade him. It was a wonder for what they were talking about before Reynolds stood his ground, is seemed. Flores scratched the back of his head before giving a reluctant nod.
With furrowed brows and narrowed eyes, I watched as Flores walked away with a frustrated look. Coach Reynolds shook his head as he turned, unexpectedly meeting my gaze. He gave me an unreadable stare, in contrast to the majority of his hard stares. It lasted only a moment before he quickly turned and walked away.
"Sheesh," Jules says, standing beside me. "The tension. He must coach Reynolds then."
"Yeah," I said, adjusting my bag on my shoulders. "A fucking prick, if you ask me."
"Don't let him hear you say that around him.," Kelvin's voice sounds behind me.
I scoff. "You know it's true as well as I do."
Coach has always been like that, but believe me when I say things will improve. He may currently appear to be an asshole, but he's a great coach." Despite speaking in a calm manner, Kelvin's amusement was evident. "Give it time. Before you know it, you'll be his starting quarterback."
Jules remark on the other side of me, "So a be patient kind of thing to get to where you want."
"Exactly." Kelvin agrees.
"Do you know my brother?" Jules snickers, giving me a teasing look. "He's not the patient type."
"Oh, I know." Kelvin laughs alongside my sister, and the agitation in me grew.
I say, "Here," and hand her my bag. "Stay close to the bleachers, but don't go wandering off."
Jules snorts with amusement, "Whatever you want, big bro," rolling her eyes as she says. Kelvin laughs more. With a warning look from me and winced away before looking to Kelvin. "Bye, Kel."
