Hanbu's Point of View
I checked outside the window and saw how dark it was. Then I slowly opened my room's sliding door and made sure no one was awake. It was one in the morning, so I wasn't surprised when I saw no one.
I stepped outside my room and closed the door. I walked a few steps, and winced with every creak. I stopped moving and thought for a second, until I came up with an idea.
I started transforming into a robin. I gritted my teeth, trying to prevent myself from yelling out in pain. This is why I wanted to avoid transforming.
When I was done, I started flapping my arms and flew to an open window. Within fifteen minutes, I was flying over Karakura Town. I think that's where Yajimaru said that was where Evie and her friends were living.
I would've clenched my fists at the thought of Yajimaru, but I was a bird and kind of afraid that if I did, I would probably fall to my death.
As I descended, I couldn't help but think. Why does Yajimaru want to be a perfect being? I never got an explanation for that.
I landed on the ground and transformed back to my normal self, with the same pain that I felt when I first transformed
When I looked human again, I stood up and walked around. I left my spiritual pressure at its natural state hoping someone would notice strange half-being spirit energy, raising it to have a better chance at someone noticing me.
As I wandered around, I took note of everything that I saw. I've never been to Karakura Town, or any town for that matter, and I wanted to enjoy my freedom while I could.
"I wonder where the Urahara Shop is..." I mumbled to myself. Yajimaru said that was where Evie lived and where her friends have meetings.
I raised my spirit energy some more, hoping I caught someone's attention soon. My time here was limited.
I turned a street, looking around. This street was full of stores. I looked inside the windows, looking at all the things humans buy and sell all the time. I couldn't help but wish I had the freedom humans had. Instead I'm stuck with Yajimaru.
I turned another street, this one filled with houses. There were no lights on, everyone was asleep.
I tried raising my spiritual pressure again. After a couple more blocks, I was getting ready to give up and head back home. After all, it was the middle of the night. Everyone is asleep. Why would anyone be on the lookout for half-being spirit energy?
Just when I started lowering my spiritual pressure, I suddenly felt a kick in the back. The breath was knocked out of me, and I fell to the ground.
My attacker held my right arm in the air while they had a foot on my back, holding me down. I thought I saw a flash of purple hair, but I wasn't sure.
"Who are you?" The feminine voice of my attacker hissed.
"Hanbu," I wheezed. "I'm a half-being."
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"I was hoping I could find one of the friends of the hollow hunter, Evie, to help her escape..."
She lifted her foot off of my back, so it was resting just barely above me. I greedily gulped air.
"I swear, if you're lying to me..." she trailed on, leaving me to finish the sentence.
"Yeah, yeah, I get the idea," I told her.
She let go of my arm and backed away a couple of steps. I stood up and studied my attacker. I was right, she did have purple hair.
"You are a friend of Evie's, right?" I asked to be sure.
