Toshiro's Point of View
I raced through the Precipice World, going as fast as I could without flash stepping.
When I finally stepped out, I immediately surveyed the damage. Buildings were reduced to almost nothing. The half-beings haven't been here long, but they didn't waste any time.
I have no idea if there have been any casualties, but it looks like there are no injuries. From here, at least.
"Captain!" I turned to the right and saw Lieutenant Matsumoto running in my direction.
"Rangiku, report!" I barked my order.
"We've suffered seven casualties so far, captain. Most, at least five, are members from Squad 4. The last two are members of our squad and Squad 3. All soul reapers who have been killed are unseated officers. The half-beings haven't been making any attempts to fight any seated officers, lieutenants, or captains. Currently, the Head Captain has requested that Squad 11 protects Squad 4 since they appear to be the target."
I nodded. "Have any of the half-beings been caught yet?"
Rangiku shook her head. "No, sir. The unseated officers are not strong enough to win. We've suffered many injuries."
"Rangiku, send a hail butterfly to all the captains and lieutenants. Tell them they can't kill the being Yajimaru, he needs to be kept alive."
"Why?"
"I'll explain later. Just do it."
As Rangiku started sending the message, I felt a new spiritual pressure. I turned around, drawing my sword and managed to block my attacker. It was a half-being, one of the ones I had fought the first time the hollow hunter, Evie, was kidnapped.
"I'm no half-being anymore," he smiled cheekily at me. He had pale hair, that was almost white. His eyes were the same shade. He was wearing pants similar to a prisoner's jumpsuit (I saw one once while I was in the World of the Living but there's no time to explain now), and a purple t-shirt. He also had a crazed look to himself, like he was stocked up on sake.
"Your not Yajimaru, are you?"
He shook his head as he bounced away from me. He smiled crookedly, staring at me unblinkingly. "Oh, no. Yajimaru has yet to make an appearance. He seems to be waiting for someone to appear!" he said in a sing-song voice.
I charged at the unnamed being, but he deflected me.
"C'mon, Captain," he smiled crookedly. "Show me your bankai. I've never fought a bankai before. You never bothered to even use shikai when we last fought."
"Looks like I got the annoying one," I muttered to myself, thinking of the fullbringer, Yukio. "Again."
The being kicked out at my legs but I flipped over him and slashed at his back.
"Reign over the frosted heavens, Hyourinmaru!" I shouted, releasing my shikai. My ice dragon headed straight for the perfect being, but he jumped high enough to get out of the way. He landed next the dragon.
"That's not good enough, captain."
"Captain!" Rangiku shouted. "The Head Captain wants to know why we can't kill Yajimaru."
"Go to him," I ordered, as mine and the being's swords clashed. "Tell him what's going on. Once the battle is over, I'll explain why."
Her spiritual pressure disappeared, meaning she flash stepped to the Squad 1 barracks. Rangiku might be useless with the paperwork she refuses to fill out, but I can always rely on her when I really need it.
