ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝟙𝟛

Nina broke the silence, "She's gone. The mindlesses.. they fucking killed her in front of us."

I stood there, frozen, not knowing what to say. I mean, what were you even supposed to say when you find out a co-worker died?

Reimu had tears prickling at the tips of her eyes, ready to spill. She was shaking, and her breathing was completely uneven. Enna and Nina stood next to her, face also mixed with many emotions.

My hair fell into my face as I hung my head low, it wasn't the first time I've lost someone close to me. If I was feeling this way, I couldn't imagine what these 3 girls were dealing with right now.

All I could do at the moment was engulf them all in a hug, and tell them "It's going to be alright."

When I did so, I felt all the emotions they've held in cave in. My shoulders were slowly damping with their tears, and sorrow.

Hearing them cry, made me also want to cry, but for their sake I have to just stay strong.

More pairs of arms wrapped around us, and I turn around to see the Luxiem group joining the hug. With this gesture, the remaining Ethyria girls started sobbing harder.

We stayed like this until the sobbing stopped, although they were still shaking.

"Feeling better?" I ask, releasing the hug.

"A lot better, thank you baby." Nina spoke, her voice still shaky. I've always seen Nina as a mother figure, so seeing her cry was like seeing your parents cry.

That iconic smile Nina always had on her face was no longer there. Her fluffy white tail and ears were also drooped down, it was almost like she lost the sparkle in her eyes. It was like that for Reimu and Enna as well, but I know they'll get through this.

I turn around to take a glance at my genmates standing behind me; Ike, and Vox had their heads hug low, Luca and Mysta had tears rolling down their faces despite trying to hide them, and Shu was still sleeping.

This whole mess felt like a nightmare. A nightmare we couldn't wake up from.

Mysta spoke up, "Hey, you guys can stay with us for the time being-"

"No." Vox cut him off, "I'm sorry but you guys can't stay with us."

My (e/c) eyes widened. We were all shocked, and stunned. Vox, the Vox Akuma really just said that? That is not the person we know! He wouldn't just abandon our own co-workers like that.. right..?

"What the fuck do you mean no? They clearly need us the most right now!" Mysta argued on, his face full of anger.

"I meant no, Mysta! This is about survival, and they will only drag us down even more!" Vox spat back. His usual calm and collected voice, was replaced with a much more aggressive one.

I slowly made my way behind Ike, being scared of what's about to happen. "We can't just leave them out here! They're gonna fucking die!" The detective shouted.

Vox was taken aback, "What about us? We can't feed 3 more people! Shu is getting tired, and he can't keep constantly making stuff for us, you know?"

They both had good points; we couldn't abandon them in a middle of an apocalypse, but we also didn't have enough supplies for them to stay with us.

Before anything else could get worse, Reimu started speaking, "I-It's fine Mysta. We'll leave, and leave you guys alone."

"What? No-!" Mysta tried reaching out for them, but Vox grabbed hold of his hand firmly, preventing him to go any further.
