A few days have passed since Jain had been assigned as one of my retainers. Her and Hachi had become fast friends as they both refused to do their jobs unless there was someone else around to get them in trouble. In fact, the two had gotten so close that Jain had started sneaking Hachi energy drinks during lunch, which could get either of them suspended. Luckily, they haven't gotten caught yet, and it is pretty funny to watch them sneak around like children.
On a different note, Guren hasn't been at school in almost a week. I had started to worry when Shinya told me that Kureto had interrogated him about supposedly being a spy for the Thousand Nights, which we already knew he wasn't. However, I got distracted when Shinya told me that Kureto had Shinoa, my little sister, pretend to have been tortured. I may have missed the pretend part.
"You did what?" Hachi yells after Jain let it slip that I had, let's say sparred, with Kureto last night.
"It wasn't a big deal, he explained what actually happened before I could do any real damage." I explain.
"I don't care, getting in fights with Kureto could get you in serious trouble with Master Tenri." Hachi tells me.
"You don't think I'm aware of that. I couldn't just sit by when I thought Kureto hurt Shinoa!" I defend.
"I would have stopped her if she put herself in too precarious of a position." Jain says politely, but I can see her grin hiding behind her cup.
"You're instigating of purpose aren't you?" I ask.
"Whatever do you mean?" She replies, the lie obvious by the fake English accent she puts on when she says it.
"Excuse me, Lady Gin?" Says a voice from behind me. I turn to see Aoi, Kureto's retainer.
"Yes?" I ask quickly, hoping she didn't hear our conversation.
"Master Kureto would like the three of you to meet him in the Student Council Room after lunch." She explains.
"Oh, thank you for telling me. We'll make our way there in a few minutes." I tell her. Aoi bows before slipping away.
"Do you think someone reported our energy drink scheme?" Jain asks.
"For some reason, I think this is bigger than bring a few bottles of contraband onto school grounds."
