“She’s waking up!” I hear a really high pitch girl voice squeal. “Quick! Get over here now! Any second!”

Oh my god! Will she shut up?! Wait a minute, who is that? My eyes fly open and I find myself looking into a pair of bright purple/violet coloured eyes. I sit up quickly and am hit by a wave of dizziness and nausea.

“Oh no you don’t.” Some guy catches me and lays me back down gently before I fell back.

“Where am I?” I ask, god I’m so confused, this isn’t hospital!

“You are in our family’s house.” The girl with purple eyes like the boys says.

“Uh, shouldn’t I be in hospital or something?” I ask, still confused. I’m forgetting something, something important....... “Violet!” I yell jumping out of bed. “Where is she?!” looking around the room for her I am hit by another wave of dizziness and I nearly fall over but right before I hit the floor and hurt myself even more the guy catches me. He lifts me up bridal style and gently lays me back on the bed. He is very handsome. Pale blonde hair, tall, lean and also muscular.

“Where am I?” I ask again hoping for a better answer. “Where is Violet? Who are you guys?” all of my questions come tumbling out at once. I sense for Violets mind and find she is okay.

“You ask quite a lot of questions don’t you?” the boy asks me with a smirk on his face. I blush. “You are in my family’s house as my sister mentioned before.” Oh, that explains the matching eye colours. “Violet is in the next room, she is fine. Asleep at the moment. I am Julian, this is my sister Emilia. In the other room with Violet is my sister Isobelle and Christian, my younger brother. I think that answers all of you questions.” He says looking at me.

“Yes it does.“ I say returning his look. “My name is Scarlett and the other girls name is Violet and she is my younger sister.  It’s nice to meet you both.” I smile at them. “Can I see Violet?”

“Yes, but it is probably best to let her sleep for now. She was out of it when we found you guys.” Emilia says looking at me warmly. “Oh, and our parents said you and your sister are welcome to stay here for a little while if you would like.” She chirped looking really excited by the idea. She was like a pixie on red bull. She was shortish and had warm caramel coloured hair that went to her chin and was spiked a little.

“Are you sure?” I ask nervously.

“Yes! We have like three guest rooms, we will set two of them up for you guys.” She says flitting out of the room.

“That would be lovely. Thank you.” I say turning to look at Julian who was leaning against a wall.

“It’s no problem at all. Would you like me to contact a parent or a relative?” he asks me coming and sitting in the chair next to my bed.

“No, I don’t have anyone aside from Vi. So it would be quite pointless calling her when she is here already.” I say trying to make a joke because I feel horrible right now. I always joke when I’m upset. I could have killed Violet.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t realise-“ he starts to say looking ashamed, before I cut him off.

“No, no. It’s alright, of course you wouldn’t have known. How could you know? You only just meet me!” I say giving his hand a quick reassuring squeeze. Wait, did I really just do that? Oh, my god! I quickly pull my hand back and blush bright red, I only just met the guy! And yet I was acting like we are really good friends.

Julian laughs. He has a nice musical laugh. He has a nice voice too. Then he gets up and heads towards the door. “I’ll go get you a glass of water.” He says before going out of the room. He pokes his head back in and says, “by the way, you’re cute when you blush.” He leaves to room completely this time and my blush deepens. Oh my, he just said I’m cute when I blush. He is just making fun of me. I look like a tomato and I know it! Argh. I roll over in my bed. Something feels so safe about being here. I fall asleep again, completely exhausted.

These roses look so beautiful, I think as I smell them.

“The roses smell lovely this time of year, don’t they?” asks an old feminine voice. That voice, I know that voice! I spin around quickly from admiring the roses to face my grandmother.

“Granma!” I yell excitedly, hugging her.

“Hello, dear.” She replies placing a kiss on my forehead.

“You haven’t talked to me in a while.” I accuse stepping out of the hug.

“There has been no need my child and I haven’t the energy to do it all the time anymore.” She says as she takes my hand and starts leading me to a small white gazebo with a table and two chairs inside. Sitting down across from me she says, “How’s your head from the accident?”

“How do you know about the accident?” I inquire. How on earth does she know?

“I may be dead but I still know when something bad has happened.” She says staring at me with her bright emerald eyes. The same colour as mine. We share quite a few of the same features; the green eyes, black hair and full lips.

My grandmother passed away a few years back dew to old age. She was always such a lively person, full of energy.

One of my abilities is that I can talk to the people I know that have died in my dreams. I can also talk to anyone once I have met them if I want.

“The people you are staying with?” she says.

“Mmm?” I reply pulled out of my thoughts.

“Stay with them, they can keep you and your sister safe.”

“I thought I sensed something good about them.” I say. “I didn’t want to go into their heads yet though.”

“I knew them in my younger years. They will explain ev-“

I am abruptly woken up by a loud banging sound. Shocked out of sleep, I look around for what caused the noise.
