As it turns out Emilia had known before we even knew ourselves. She said that she had watched the way we acted around each other and she also would catch us glancing at one another. Mia is actually quite observant when you think about it, especially for someone who is so hyper all the time.

It has been a week since Julian drank my blood and we first said we loved each other. We have become even more close to one another, and the family are fine with us being together although Violet was a little shocked. She constantly wondered why I hadn’t seen it coming and told her about it straight away. But really, I had only just figured it out myself when Julian told me.

Julian and I are sitting on the stairs outide, Julian has his back against the rail and I am curled up to him, he has an arm wrapped protectively around me and my head is resting on his chest.

I wonder what it was like for Julian when he drank my blood. I really want to ask him so I do: “Julian, what was it like for you when you drank my blood?”

I look up and see a slight frown appear on his face. “Why do you want to know?” He asks glancing down at me.

“Well, you know what it felt like for me. I want to know what it felt like for you.” I say, my voice sounding matter-of-fact.

“Amazing, for lack of a better word. It tasted so sweet, it sent shivers through my body. I didn’t want to stop, but I knew I had to. I’m still sorry for hurting you.” He says looking ashamed. I feel a blush spread across my face at his explanation of how he felt.

I lean up and kiss him on the cheek. “Julian, it didn’t hurt. You need not apologise!” I say to him, “It felt amazing to me as well.” I see a slight blush creep across his face. And he tightens his arm around me, planting small kisses on my neck, making me giggle. After a few seconds he stops and I rest my head against his chest, listening to his heart. It beats so slow.

Lilliana is running around the forest dancing. The dance she is doing is really strange, she has little viles of the four elements around her neck: earth, air, fire and water. I thought it was strange when she said that fire was going to be in one of the viles, but since she is a witch she was able to do it.

She said that when she reaches a certain point in her circle/square she will stop and place a vile in the ground. One at each point of the square. She also said that she will say a little spell to each element calling them to help us create the barrier.

“Scarlett, what are you thinking about?” Julian asks looking down at me curiously.

“About what Lilliana is doing. The dance is so weird.” I scowl, looking forward.

“It is. But she is a witch, so, it must mean something. We’ll have to ask her about it.” He says looking out into the forest.

“Done!” I hear a chirpy voice say.

I look up and see Lilliana walking toward us with a satisfied smile on her face. I see her look adoringly at Julian. “Jules, where is your mother?” she asks sweetly. Jules? Who the hell calls him ‘Jules’? His name is Julian.

Woah, why am I getting so mad…

I feel a slight frown crease my face. Am I jealous?

“She’s in the kitchen, she’s cooking muffin’s, I think.” He says looking up at her.

“Thanks Jules.” She smiles overly sweetly at him. For god’s sake, I am right here. Is she blind?!

I let out a small huff and the frown on my face increases.
