Two hundred and seventy miles from Lafayette, Louisiana to Houston, Texas.
I was reading the news and came upon an article about a man who's heart was ripped out of his chest. And in my experience only supernaturals can do that. So here I am to investigate. At the crime scene there are signs of a struggle, and there is blood on the ground. I put my hand on the ground and close my eyes.
I see a man running. Out of nowhere a werewolf comes out of the forest and attacks the man. It's mouth clamps down on the man's leg causing him to stumble to the ground. The werewolf growls, saliva dripping out of it's mouth while backing away and looking at the man. It slowly walks toward the man while the man crawls away while on his ass on the ground. Right before the werewolf is in front of him, he cries out and bends unnaturally . His bones crack and his fur disappears, leaving skin behind. A man now stand in the wolf it's place. The man on the ground looks wide eyed and whimpers. It's pretty clear he is scared and is probably thinking he has gone crazy. The werewolf fists the man his shirt and pulls him up. He sticks his hand in the man's chest and rips out his heart, his body dropping to the ground. The werewolf turns and leaves, but not before I see his face.
I take my hand back but leave my hand on the ground. I take my sketchbook and pencil out of my backpack and draw the werewolf his face. After, I decide to go to a bar not far from the crime scene. "Your poison?" The bartender asks.
"Bourbon, please."
I take out a badge and show it to him. I'm a special agent from the FBI. Wink. Wink. "Does he come here?" I ask, showing him the sketch I've drawn.
The bartender looks at it but shakes his head. "I don't think so but many people come here so it is possible, though I don't recognize him."
He gives me my drink and I drink it in one go. "Thanks."
All of a sudden my head begins to pound. I start to hear voices and they begin to get louder and louder. It's not one voice but all different ones and they all speak through one another. It's impossible to understand. I can't seem to focus and it's too overwhelming. I can't take it. It's too much. The tables, stools and glasses begin to move and shake. Pictures bang on the ground when they fall. Then the voices get even louder, if possible, and chaos breaks free. Stools begin to fly through the air, hitting the wall. Tables fly over and on people. Those that were hiding underneath them get hit in the process. The glasses and windows break, raining pieces of glass everywhere. People scream and try to take cover. Some make it out of the bar, but not everyone unfortunately.
Then like it never happened the voices are gone. It's quiet inside my head again. Everything still in the air falls to the ground and the shaking stops. I leave the bar in haste asking myself what the fuck just happened. Back in my hotelroom I wash the pieces of glass and everything away and fall into bed exhausted.
I hear the sound of swords clashing. I follow the sound and find two people fighting each other. Both have hoods on their head making them unrecognizable, but I recognize the swords. They're like mine and Killian's. I can see by their movements they both are exhausted. Like they've been going at it for awhile now. It's like they are dancing this perfect dance where they attack and block each other until one sword pierces the other one through the chest.
I bolt awake, gasping for breath. Sweating and panting like I've just run a marathon. I go to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face. After showering I go to a diner for food, a block away from the hotel. Upon arriving I see the werewolf I'm searching for. He passes me as he is leaving. I forgo food and decide to follow him. I follow him deep into the woods until there is a wooden cottage where he enters. I take out my blade and crouch down at a window so I can see inside undetected. I count five werewolves in total. Two are in the kitchen cooking something that smells awful. I hope it's not the heart. The other three are watching something in the living room. I close my eyes and tap deep into my powers. Opening my eyes, I snap my fingers and every electronic device stops working. They're all confused and try to make it work again but it's no use. They won't work unless I say so. I snap again and a few devices explode and burst into flames. The one I followed here starts shouting at the others.
