Two weeks. That's how long we've been stuck in Hell. We keep to ourselves and are always on the move. Hellhounds are still on our trail. Even demons look at us strangly, so we avoid the villages mostly. My wound are all healed up but a few scars remain. I guess an angel blade can do that. Little by little my powers are returning but I'm nowhere near full powerfull again. Killian is getting agitated. He's trying to find us a way out of here but with each day that passes it seems more and more hopeless. He can use every power he wants , except the one we really need to get out of here. Wich means Lucifer really wants me here. Finding a way out off Hell , how many have done it?
One day we stumble across a cave. I can't help but look inside. Though for some reason I have a bad feeling about it. "Maria, let's just ignore it. Nothing good will come from it."
"I know." But I keep staring at the entrance, I can't explain it but I need to go inside. I take a step towards it, then another and another.
"No! You don't want to go inside, trust me." Killian says as he blocks me from entering.
"You know what's there, don't you?"
He sighs. "Yes, nothing good. It's where human souls go before they turn into a demon. It's nothing you should see."
"Turn into a human? Are you saying that demons were humans once?"
"All but the original ones, the fallen angels. And me. All the others are tortured and corrupted human souls."
"Wow. To be honest, I never really wondered where demons really came from. From Hell, yes, but other than that. You've been inside?"
"Once, and it's nothing you want to see. And nothing I want to see again. Come on."
We continue walking, leaving the cave behind us. We come across an open field and smack in the middle of it is a what looks to be abandoned house.
"Stay here, I'm going to make sure it's empty."
It's not long before he says it safe to come inside. All the furniture except an old couch are gone. The place looks dirty, but it's safe for now. Right now, that's more important than being clean. I go upstairs checking if the water works, doing a happy dance in my head when it does. It's cold but better then nothing.
I take off my clothes and step into the shower. Not a minute goes by and I hear the door of the bathroom open and close. Killian quickly takes off his clothes and joins me in the shower. We don't speak. Only touch and feel. It's hard and rough and fast and I love every second. We're fucking. Plain and simple fucking. And when we come, Killian roars.
The next day we disguise ourselves a little and go to the nearest village to a restaurant for some actual food. When I come back from using the restrooms I am greeted by the sight of Lucifer standing over Killian, who lays on the floor. He's taken some hits by the look of it. I go to him but Lucifer stops me, dragging me against his body and smelling my hair. By now Killian is back on his feet again and glaring at Lucifer. He laughs and pushes me towards Killian who drags me in his arms.
"We're leaving. Don't try anything or you will regret it." Lucifer says. We follow him and his stupid goons towards the door. But then all of a sudden, chaos erupts inside the bar. Michael is here, killing demons left and right but reaches me in the middle of it and touches two fingers to my forehead. I blink and I'm not in the bar anymore. I'm in a room I don't know, Killian thankfully next to me. Before I can really look around a voice startles me.
"What the fuck happened down there?" Uriël demands. He looks pissed. He's fisting his hands, then releasing before doing it again. "Well?"
"I. We. We got stuck." I stutter. Silence. He looks to be waiting for more, but really what more is there to tell.
"You got stuck? How did you get there in the first place?"
"I took her. It was my fault." Killian admits. "I didn't know this would happen."
"You realize what could have happened? She is a baby angel in their eyes. She's not strong enough yet."
"I will." I interrupt him." I will be strong enough, because I want to make sure he never gets out."
"And I will help her. I love her."
"You love her?" We all turn towards Michael his voice. He looks pale and sick. Something is wrong with him. "You can't be together. You have to try to kill the other. What do either of you know about love? You know nothing."
Now he's looking directly at me. "We have sacrificed everything for you. Don't you understand ? You decide our fate with your decisions. What you do. Who you do it with."
"But if he's not a treat, if he's on our side the whole game changes. We will make sure those seals won't be broken and Lucifer will never get out."
"That's not enough! He needs to die. The fight needs to happen and Lucifer has to die."
"Why ? He can't do anything from down there. I don't understand why you are being so difficult about it."
"Because it is your destiny. And I don't want him near you."
"Well, too bad for you because I don't need your permission. I did fine before you , I will do fine without you."
"We'll see about that."
Without another word I turn around and take Killian with me, leavind the room and those fuckers. I'll prove him wrong. I just know Killian and me, we are meant for each other.
