Sleep just as Jungkook knew would elude him found himself laying on his side of the bed staring at Jimin. He knew that he was probably being creepy, but he couldn't help it. It had been so long since Jungkook had been able to just admire Jimin without having to worry about him catching him doing so. There was no chance of that happening now because Jimin was out cold. He was always a heavy sleeper once he finally went down. Jungkook traced Jimin's features in the dark illuminated by the glow of the moon that filtered in the sliding glass doors feeling the longing that he always shoved deep down inside rush to the surface. Jungkook consumed with that longing drew his hand from underneath his cheek where it was tucked and reached out for Jimin's hair. Before he could make contact though Jungkook forced himself to turn around and face the sliding glass doors. He stared out at the night sky that was pitch black only interrupted by the glow of the moon and the stars that dotted its expanse. Jungkook stared out into the void until his body gave in to its need for sleep despite his jumbled thoughts and emotions.

Jungkook woke feeling warm and oddly content despite the thoughts and feelings he fell asleep to last night. Jungkook burrowed into that warmth wanting to bask in it.

"Kook?" Jimin croaked out voice laced with sleep.

Jungkook's eyes flew open. His heart lodged in his throat when he realized that he was spooning Jimin and was burying his face in the back of his neck. Jungkook immediately let go of Jimin rolling off the bed and hit the floor with a thud in his bid to get away.

"Fuck!" Jungkook grit out landing on his side his elbow hitting the hardwood floor as he did.

Jimin shot up when he heard Jungkook cuss. Jungkook could see him looking around trying and failing to find him.

"Jungkook?" Jimin questioned running a hand through his hair which was sticking up in multiple directions.

Jungkook closed his eyes knowing there was no escape from having to face Jimin. Jungkook sighed and pushed himself up from the floor.

"Sorry if I woke you."

"Why are you on the floor?"

"Uh, I fell."

"Oh, was I taking up too much of the bed?"

Jungkook stared at Jimin in disbelief. Did he not know that Jungkook had been spooning him?

"I." Jungkook shook his head. "No."

"Then why did you fall off the bed?"

Jungkook stood up from the floor rubbing his elbow. Trying to think of an answer when Jimin supplied one himself.

"Maybe it was due to a dream. You know like those ones where you fall, and you startle awake?"

Jungkook nodded his head, "yeah. That's probably why."

Jimin laid back down in the bed, "you okay though?"

"Yeah."

"Kay. I'm going to go bac ..."

Jungkook snorted as Jimin fell back asleep midsentence. Jungkook decided that since he was up, he might as well go for a run. Jungkook decided on a run ducked into the bathroom took care of business and after that he was slipping his sneakers on and was out the door everyone still asleep from what he could tell. Jungkook once outside stepped onto the familiar trail that he'd been running for as long as he could remember. It was a dirt path that led through the woods and around the lake all the way back to the cabin. The trail which Jungkook had been consistently running since he was a freshman in high school every summer was around five miles in its entirety. In the beginning it was a bit rough for him to handle since he was nowhere in the shape that he was now. But a good growth spurt and hitting the gym regularly had changed that and by the time he was a sophomore running the trail was a breeze for him no matter how uneven its path became over time.

Jungkook took in the sound of his footfalls along with the sounds of nature consisting mostly of birds. He loved everything about running through the woods around the lake. But more than anything he loved the time it gave him to clear his head which had been chalk full of Jimin. It usually was but this morning had been worse. Jungkook tended to keep Jimin at arm's length physically. He'd give him the occasional hug or when he had lapses in judgement would indulge himself in Jimin's touch like he had the other morning when he'd pulled him under his blanket into his bed. But this morning, he woke up spooning Jimin. Cuddling Jimin. Burrowing into him. Jungkook NEVER allowed himself to do that. And it was just for the reasons you would think. Because now all he could think about was how perfect Jimin felt in his arms. How their bodies molded together. More than anything though was how badly he wanted it to happen again.
