*Sutton's POV*

"You ready?" I asked.

"Born ready," Noah responded. I snipped off the first bit of hair, cutting just to his ribs. Even then, we were losing at least 7 inches of hair. He giggled a little at the sound of the first cut, clearly far too excited about this. "I've needed this for way too long."

"Yeah, I mean I want my hair to be long, but I couldn't imagine my hair being this long," I said honestly.

"I can use so much less conditioner now," he mused with a dreamy sigh. "I'll probably still want to go shorter than this," he said honestly.

"Are you wanting to cut all of it off?!" I asked, a little scared of the answer.

"I think so, eventually. This hair holds a lot of hurtful memories and I wouldn't mind starting over," he replied, and I understood that.

"I can see that. There are a lot of cultures that firmly believe in cutting your hair after going through a traumatic event to help you get rid of the energy," I bounced back.

"I definitely need it," he said with a sad chuckle. It didn't take me too long to cut it, even though I did thorough sections. I finished up and came around to sit in his lap and kiss him. He smiled at me after the kiss but gently got me off of him to go look in the mirror. "I already feel so much better, thank you," he mused before kissing me.

"Of course, I just want you to feel comfortable and confident on our trip," I said honestly.

"How are you feeling about it?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at me. We leave in 2 days.

"I'm a nervous fucking wreck," I said honestly. "I can only hope that they're as incredible as they appear to be."

"I'm sure they'll exceed your expectations," he reassured me. "Make sure to pack enough for 5 days," he reminded me.

"Do I need anything fancy?" I asked, trying to gauge his plans.

"Maybe like 2 nice outfits?" he suggested, unsure of the answer. I shrugged and decided to pack 3. I swept up his hair and threw it away, pouting a little, which made him laugh. "It'll grow back!"

"Not if you want to cut it all off!" I shot back. He hugged me from behind, swaying me back and forth.

"It'll be fine," he reassured me. We went upstairs to my room, Jasmine immediately talking up a storm when we got up the stairs.

"What's going on, Miss Girl?" I cooed at her, her just leading me to my room to show me Penny and Leo cuddling, which took me by surprise. I took out my phone and took a picture of them, my jaw on the floor at the sight. Noah chuckled at me and also took a picture on his phone of the cats. I pulled out my suitcase and started packing while Noah disturbed Penny and Leo's peace by petting both of them.

2 days later, Nic dropped us off at the Airport at 7 am. Luckily it was only a 4 hour flight, but we're also jumping forward 2 hours, timezone-wise. We landed by 3 pm Central Time, both of us sleeping most of the flight. We were pretty groggy as we got off the plane and hung out in baggage claim, but felt more awake after we found our suitcases. Noah went all out and booked us to stay at Opryland, which I was super excited about. Since it's the beginning of November, they usually decorate with Christmas lights around this time of year, so maybe they'll have that?

We took an Uber to our hotel, both of us still fighting grogginess and riding in silence. Noah wouldn't let me help him with the carry ons or my suitcase, but finally agreed to let me roll his suitcase since it was smaller. We checked in and found our room; it was just a simple room with a king bed and a great bathroom, but the main bells and whistles of this place was the atrium and the gardens, anyway. We collapsed and took a much needed nap.
