*Sutton's POV*
Thanksgiving is here and we are doing a FaceTime with the Ruffilo's so that we don't feel like we're missing that part of today. Danielle and I go into the boy's house without knocking but bearing pies that we made last night. It was 10 am, so most of the guys were up. Orie was running a mile a minute, stressing over the turkey he promised to make. We shouted our hellos and hug everyone, which we usually don't do, but the holiday spirit makes you more vulnerable. Everyone seems to be pretty relaxed except for Orie, who definitely is not asking for help either.
There are three new guys here, which surprised me, but I learned that they were Matt, their FOH engineer, Bryan, their tour photographer, and Davis, who was in a band with Noah at one point and I honestly do not know what he does for Bad Omens, but he tags along with them often. Danielle definitely already knew them, so she went to hang out with them since she hadn't seen them in forever. I hung around with Noah in the kitchen as he and Nic jammed out to Noah's playlist and made casseroles. Noah handed me a mimosa with a big grin, giving me a kiss in the process. Everyone was honestly in an incredible mood except for Orie. The boys threw the casseroles in the fridge for later so that all they had to do was throw them in the oven closer to dinner and came to hang out in the living room.
Oh God, they brought out Mario Kart again. I've learned that Matt is the only one other than Nic that is a genuine challenge for me; Folio also refuses to play him, too. I laughed watching Bryan and Davis get way too heated over how bad Matt was beating them while Danielle was just along for the ride and beating Bryan and Davis. Matt won with flying colors and Bryan and Davis rage quit. I could tell they wanted to throw the controllers, both swearing as they got off the couch. I calmly took a seat next to Danielle, Noah taking the spot next to me, and we started a new tournament. I could see Nic and Folio sitting on the edge of their seats with the knowledge of how this was going to go. Matt and I definitely stayed neck and neck the entire time, but Noah and Danielle were doing pretty decent, too. We had really challenged ourselves by choosing a tournament that had Rainbow Road as the last track, which made Danielle and Noah both lose their minds with how much they kept falling off of it. Matt and I were really holding it down, him holding 1st but me staying on his ass. Someone threw a blue shell at the last second and got him, making me win and him jump off the couch.
"Are you fucking joking?!" Matt screamed, making me double over in laughter. I looked at everyone else and noticed Folio pass Nic a $20 bill, clearly losing a bet they had made. Noah and Danielle laughed with me while Matt walked a lap around the room. "The fucking blue shell--" he started as he went outside, making us laugh more.
I surrendered my spot so that Folio and Nic could play as me and Noah wandered off. We found Bryan, Orie, Jolly, and Davis in the kitchen, but I made sure to go out of my way to properly meet Bryan and Davis. "It's good to finally meet you," Bryan said with a bright smile.
"Yeah, it's about time we had someone that can put Matt in his place," Davis joked as Matt walked in the kitchen, who looked annoyed at the sentiment, rolling his eyes dramatically.
"That's for sure," Noah concurred, making Matt punch his arm playfully, earning a smile out of him.
"I was thinking," Bryan started, "what if we all went to Big Bear for a weekend sometime soon since we can't go home for the holidays?" he suggested.
"That'd be sick," Noah responded quickly.
"What's Big Bear?" I asked curiously, making everyone look at me like I had five heads. "What? I haven't even lived here for a year, and that year has been spent in quarantine!"
"Fair," Bryan started. "It's a lake that isn't far from here that has cabins and stuff."
"Then hell yeah, I'm in," I responded, all of the guys throwing up their fists in victory with them jeering.
