Ja

One Week Later

"If there's a question of my heart, you've got it
It don't belong to anyone but you
If there's a question of my love, you've got it
Baby don't worry, I've got plans for you," I heard Izzy's angelic ass voice as I fought to wake up. It felt like I had been sleeping for years.

"I really love hearing you sing to him. I also really appreciate you being here everyday. I know my son loves you and this shows me just how much you love him." I heard my mom's voice, and then she squeezed my hand. I  was finally able to open my eyes. I looked around the room Islan was on one side of me, My mom and dad was on the other, Tap and Maiyani were seated opposite across from me. The tube in my throat prevented me from speaking, so I started making noises until I finally got somebody's attention.

"Oh, my god, baby! You're awake!!" My mom yelled out. I watched Tap run into the hallway to get a doctor. Izzy just stared at me with tears running down her face.

"Mr. Morant, very glad to see that you're awake." The doctor said as he walked into the room. I pointed at the tube cause I just wanted that shit out. After a quick but painful process, it was out, and he checked my vitals.

"Your vitals look fine, though it does seem as if you're having a little trouble breathing still. We're gonna switch your face mask and get you some meds to help your breathing, but you should be fine. You gotta get rest; your body has done a good amount of healing but not enough." I nodded, and he turned to walk out of the room.

"Why are you crying, Stink?" I looked around at everybody in the room. It hurt to talk but I didn't care.

"I'm just so happy you're woke. We could've lost you Ja."

"Why is y'all looking crazy? Lost me? What the fuck happened?" I was confused. I understood something had to happen because there was a tube down my throat.

"Son you were in a car accident. You've been in a coma for the past week." My dad explained. I couldn't remember shit but leaving the hookah lounge. I finally got Izzy to calm down, and she kept looking at me through red, teary eyes. The look on her face broke my heart. The look on everybody's faces broke my heart. I'd clearly given everyone a scare. My mom, dad, Tap, Maiyani and Niya went to find food. Leaving me and Islan alone.

"Stink, You can stop staring at me. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not gon disappear."

"Promise Me?" She whimpered. She interlocked her pinky with mine and brought it to her lips.

"Promise," I reassured her just as the doctor walked in with a different breathing mask and a few meds.

"This one goes in your nose; it makes it easier to inhale oxygen; there's also a vapor that's gonna help open up your lungs some, and this is for any pain you may be feeling." He explained as he situated the mask on my face. I nodded and took the small cup from his hand.

"When imma be able to get out of here, doc?" I asked. I had only been awake for about a half hour, but a nigga was ready to get home. I missed my daughter something serious.

"Depends on your body could be 2 days could be 2 weeks." He responded and walked out the door. I sighed; I was not tryna be laid up in this motherfucker for two weeks.

"Who got my phone?" I looked around the room. Islan walked over to her purse and pulled it out. I went straight to KK's number to call her. She picked up almost immediately.

"Ja," She let out a deep sigh of relief.

"Hey, Hey, Hey can everybody stop being so emotional." I shook my head. I'm not gon lie though, a nigga felt hella loved.
