A month later

"My girl birthday in two days, but I have all star weekend." I sat annoyed talking to my dad.

"This what you signed up for son. Sometimes you're going to miss important moments."

"Man, my shorty going to Turks and caicos. I'm finna be in cold ass New York." I complained. I was so mad. My baby and her gang was finna be on an island living life and I was finna be playing basketball in a city where it's 30 degrees. Her first birthday with us as a couple and we're not spending it together. One thing I was going to do is make sure She enjoyed it though.

"You'll be fine. I'm sure you'll make it up once the season ends."

"We gon enjoy it before she leaves." I shrugged.

"I should be going ! y'all be treating me like a kid. Who said I wanna go to all star weekend." Niya chimed in.

"You wanna stay in Memphis by yourself? Cause ya can!" I told her. ol' complaining ass.

"You can't do nothing in Turks and Caicos Teniya hush." My mom laughed.

"Son, what are you going to do for Izzy's birthday?" She asked.

"Planned a surprise birthday dinner with her friends. Got Her A Bunch of stuff and some more stuff but that's none of y'all business." I shrugged.

"Well excuse us Mr. Man." My mom joked making everyone laugh.

"Just know dad gave me all the tools. I really hope I Can Make it to even half as long as y'all been together." We sat in a comfortable silence watching tv and I scrolled through my phone.

Definitely wish My Man could comee 😩 But my baby is an All-Star so proud of him.

I spent the rest of the day chilling and getting ready for All-star weekend and Islan's birthday events. I had it all planned out, hopefully she played accordingly with these damn index cards.

"Bae , where we going?" Islan Whined as we got in the car. I went into my satchel and pulled out the index cards.
