Chapter 9: Hidden Feelings

{Joey's POV}

Have you ever had that feeling where things couldn't get any more perfect than they already are? Because I'm there right now. Daniel and I are laying in his bed, just cuddling. Whispering sweet nothing's into each others ears, and sharing a few sweet, soft kisses here and there. Something ruined our moment when I got a text. It was from Shane.

S: Hey Joey. I really need to talk to you. It's important. Can you come over?

J: Sure. Be right there.

I sat up and Daniel had a disappointed look on his face.

Joey: Sorry babe. Something came up and I have to go.

Daniel: What came up?

Shit. I can't tell him I'm going to Shane's. He might get jealous. Although I don't want to lie to him. I can say I'm going to Shane's because he needs me to help him with a project.

Joey: I have to run over to Shane's to help him with an important project.

Daniel: Oh...

Joey: What's wrong?

Daniel: It's just... I don't trust Shane.

Joey: Why not?

Daniel: I feel like he has a thing for you, that's all.

Joey: Oh Dani, no he doesn't. He's straight! He has a girlfriend, Lisa. And our ship, Shoey, is just a fun thing between us, and our fans. He only acts that way around me because... well... he's Shane.

Daniel: Are you sure he doesn't like you?

Joey: Yes babe. I love yoou. And I always will. I promise, as soon as I'm done, I'll be back ok?

Daniel: Ok.

I got up and kissed him goodbye. Then I walked out.

{Shane's POV}

The reason why I'm inviting Joey over is that I need to tell him something. Something NO ONE knows. Not even Lisa. I feel like I can trust Joey to know this. Suddenly, there's a knock on my door.

Shane: Come in!

Joey: Hey Shane!

He comes over to me and hugs me

Joey: So boy! What's on your mind?

Shane: Well first, I was wondering if you wanted to shoot a video today? We could do the... the... Tumblr tag?

Joey: Sure! Sounds fun!

Shane, stop avoiding the topic and tell him already!

Shane: Ok. Now what I really wanted to tell you.

Joey: Shoot boy! Spill the beans!

Shane: Ok. This is my biggest secret EVER. You are the only one to know. Ok here it goes... Joey... I'm gay.

Joey: Wait... you're what?

Shane: Joey... I'm gay.

Joey: Wow... I did not see that coming. So... you're not "dating" Lisa. She's just a cover up?

Shane: Basically. I don't want to come out to my fans yet. I'm not ready. I need more self confidence first.

Joey: I know exactly what you mean.

Suddenly out eyes locked. For some reason, neither one of us wanted to look away. I scooted closer to Joey.

Joey: So... the video...

His voice trailed off.

Shane: Yeah.. we should..

Out noses were almost touching. I was lost in his eyes, and he was lost in mine. Something was happening, and I'm not sure what. Before I knew it, our lips were touching. It was a soft kiss. Then I remembered the man in Joey's life... Daniel. I quickly pulled away and I blushed fiercely. Joey had a shocked look on his face.

Shane: I... I... I'm sorry.

I ran out of my living room and into my bedroom. I flopped onto my bed and cried. Then I heard the door open.

Joey: Shane?

Shane: What do you want?

Joey: Are you ok?

Shane: Not really. I just kissed you when you already have a boyfriend! Why aren't you screaming at me?

Joey: It's fine. I'm not mad at you.

Shane: You're not?

Joey: No. Although I'm going to admit that the kiss wasn't terrible, I think you were just trying to see if you were really gay.

Shane: But I am Joey. And I like you.

He started blushing.

Joey: I'm flattered Shane. But I have Daniel remember?

Shane: Yes, and it hurts that I can't have you.

Joey: Hey, we can still be friends ok?! I'd rather have you as a friend than nothing at all.

Shane: True.

Joey: Well then, shall we shoot the video-hoegle?!

Shane: What?

Joey: It's a thing I do. Don't judge me.

{Joey's POV}

Something happened. Shane kissed me... and I liked... no, loved it. Why?! You have Daniel Joey! He's the best thing to ever happen to you.... But I think I still have a crush on Shane.
