Chapter 34: Saying Goodbye

{Daniel's POV}

So, this is it. Joey and I have spent the last 3 weeks together. Basically inseparable. We spent all of our days cuddling on the couch, kissing, hugging, and holding hands. We went out to dinner a lot. I just want Joey to remember me when I'm gone. Today, Joey is driving me to the airport. I looked over at him and he looked sad.

Daniel: Joey? Baby? What's wrong?

Joey: I... I just...

Daniel: Just, what Joey?

He pulled the car over to the side of the road. Joey looked into my eyes.

Joey: Dan, I'm just going to miss you so much. What if I get lonely?

Daniel: Joeyyyy. Don't make me want to stay with you.

Joey: Of course I want you to stay baby. But, on the other hand, this is huge. I want you to take this. It'll make me happy if I know you're happy.

Daniel: Are you sure you want me to go?

Joey: Yes Danny. Although you couuuld stay?

I could tell he was being sarcastic, then he giggled, he REALLY shouldn't play with my emotions.

Daniel: Joey, you're sick in the head.

Joey: I know. That'll be our always.

I leaned in and kissed my beautiful fiancé.

Daniel: Now, I promise, as soon as I get back from this movie, we're going to get married!

Joey: Of course! Oh Daniel, I love you so much.

Daniel: I love you too Jojo.

I leaned over and kissed him again. God I'm going to miss that for the next year.

Daniel: Now, we gotta get going, I'm going to miss my flight.

Joey: Yeah, I suppose your right.

He started the car and drove off to the airport.

{Joey's POV}

So, this is it. Daniel is going to leave me for about a year. I mean, yeah sure I've got friends here to help me out and stuff when things are going bad, but I will need someone to hug and kiss when I need it. I guess I'm just going to have to deal with the fact that he'll be gone.

Daniel: Still wanna walk me in?

Joey: Of course! I want to spend every moment with you.

I grabbed his hand and we walked into the airport together, and I didn't care who saw us. I just wanted to be with my Daniboy for as long as possible. He placed his luggage on the cart and he or felt down by a FEMALE officer.

Officer: Say, you're pretty cute.

Daniel: Why thanks dollface!

She blushed and I walked over.

Joey: Everything ok babe.

Officer: Babe? You mean, you're gay?

Joey: Exactly dollface.

I kissed him in front of her and she looked away. I just laughed.

Daniel: Joey, this is why I love you so much. You're always here for me.

Joey: I'll even be there for you, even when you're in Greece.

Daniel: Thank you baby. I'll always love you.

He kissed me.

Daniel: Come on, walk me to the gate.

He grabbed my hand and we waited for his flight to be called. It was about 30 minutes until we heard over the speaker

"Flight 6754 to Greece is boarding now, please proceed to the gate"

Daniel looked at me with a sad look on his face.

Daniel: Well, that's my flight... I guess this is goodbye Joey. I'll miss you very very much.

I felt a tear roll down my cheek, he started to cry too. He rammed into me and gave me the longest hug ever. I never wanted to let go.

Daniel: I'll call you everyday ok?

Joey: Ok Daniel. I love you baby!

Daniel: I love you more!

Joey: Call me when you land!

Daniel: No problem!

And with that, he was out of sight.

I waited in the parking lot, waiting for Daniel's plane to take off. I then saw the jet that Daniel was on, and I waved goodbye. I know he can't see me, but its the thought that counts.

Joey: Have a safe trip Daniel. I love you. and just remember, you're sick in the head... will be our always.
