"Celestia, could it be that you and (l/n) met before?" Kyoko Kirigiri's question caught the Ultimate Gambler by surprise. "What do you mean?" Trying to keep her voice calm and collected, she raised her cup of tea to her lips, taking a small sip. "I don't know why that idea crossed your mind.""I didn't mean to offend you, if I did. But the way you look at him is... A little bit angry, maybe?" 'Well... There is a reason on why she's the Ultimate Detective. She waited for him to leave the table before asking me this.'
Making a sweet smile appear on her face, the black haired female giggled. "You're reading too much into it. I don't know (l/n). He is simply a new student in our class, nothing more and nothing less." Kirigiri nodded. "Hm, I see. I apologize for assuming all these things. But..."
"But what?" Though it wasn't noticeable, Celestia was becoming irritated. Why wouldn't she let that issue go? After all, she already answered her question. 'How did she even get that idea?' Gulping down her anger, she waited for the other female to finish her sentence, tapping her long grey nail against the table.
"But (l/n) actually said that you two met before." Those words nearly gave Celestia a heart attack. "What did you just say?" Her red eyes narrowed. So he did recognize her, despite all the changes of her appearance and voice. 'He's a liar. A dirty liar.'
"I said that (l/n) told us that you two met before." Hearing the sentence for a second time made her even angrier. How dare he ignore her existence like that, after everything he had done to her? She clenched the skirt of her uniform, trying to keep up her mask of uncaring emotions.
"I'm sorry for taking so long, there was a line in front of the toilet. I guess this place is already really popular already." (Y/n)'s voice pulled her out of her thoughts. Sitting next to him was making it all the worse.
For a second, the (h/c) haired male looked quite confused. "Why are all of you looking at me like that? Did something happen while I was gone?" Immediately his eyes wandered towards Celestia. "Ludenberg, are you alright?" Before anyone could even react, the Ultimate Gambler slammed some money down onto the table. "I am leaving."
"But Celeste, we only arrived a few minutes ago! You didn't even order dessert!" Aoi looked a little bit sad. "Are you not feeling well? This is so out of character for you!" The Ultimate Swimming Pro stood up, trying to get a hold of her friend.
"I am fine, Asahina." Without saying anything else, she calmly walked out of the building. Well, calm on the outside. On the inside though, the black haired female was absolutely furious. Not only did he have the nerve to become an Ultimate, he also lied straight to her face!
'And now he even acted like he cared about my comfortability! Who does that little maggot think he is?' Celestia swallowed. 'I can't believe it... How could any of this happen?' She began to feel exhausted all of a sudden, leaning against the school gate for a split second.
Because of her previous anger, the Ultimate Gambler didn't notice how exhausted all of these interactions had made her. The stress of having him back in her life was messing up her mental state. 'How am I supposed to stay calm when he's being like that...? It will be impossible...!'
