"Celeste, would you like to join us tonight? We want to celebrate (l/n)'s birthday." The Ultimate Gambler looked up to meet the purple haired detective's eyes. "For some reason, you're always the first one to talk to me, Kirigiri." Celestia let out a soft laugh. "But I accept your invitation.""You do?" Kirigiri wasn't able to say that she had expected her to come along right away. "I do. Did he specify what he wanted to be gifted?" The black haired female stood up, straightening the fabric of her jacket. "I still need to organize something, if he did."
"No, (l/n) told us that he didn't expect us to gift him anything. He would already be happy with our company." Hearing her say these words made Celestia smile slightly. 'What a nice thing to say. I guess (y/n) (l/n) really changed from back then.'
"Alright. I will see you later, Kirigiri. Goodbye." Bowing to her, the Ultimate Gambler then made her way out of the school. 'He may have said not to gift him anything, but it would be polite to still buy him something small.' She was surprised about how nice she was being.
'What should I get him, though? I don't know anything about him, despite our ugly past. To be fair, our shared past consists of meeting each other only one time. I didn't have much opportunities to get to know him, let alone be friendly to him. I hated him so much, after all.'
She sighed. 'This is so exhausting. I should just give him some money and call it a day.' In the distance, she spotted a bakery. 'I could buy him some dessert.' Celestia stopped. 'I don't know what he likes, though. I could cause an allergic reaction, if I happen to pick the wrong one.'
Shrugging, she continued walking, trying to figure out a solution. 'Gifting him money seems so insensitive. After finally resolving this small fight we had going on, I don't want to cause another issue, especially since I would be the one that has to apologize.'
"Good evening, miss." A friendly female smiled at her as she stepped into a store for flowers. "Hello." Giving her a fake smile back, she nodded. "I'm searching for the prettiest bouquet of roses you have." The woman seemed to think for a moment before hurrying off.
'Are flowers really the right choice?' Celestia glanced at all the different plants. 'Won't it seem too romantic? I hope not, I don't want him to get the wrong idea.' Her cheeks became a light red as soon as the thought about them in a romantic situation crossed her mind.
'No, pull yourself together, Celestia. You could never love the guy who screwed you over!' As gently as she could, she slapped her own cheeks, making sure that no one was watching. 'I shouldn't even think about things like that, I'm going to become crazy! Where's the shop assistant, by the way?'
Right at that moment, said woman came running back in, carrying a bouquet of red roses, which was decorated with white ribbons. "What do you think? Is this suitable for you, miss?" Carefully, she set the flowers down onto the counter. "I could put a card into it, if it's considered a gift for someone else."
"No, thank you. This will be enough." Without saying anything else, she paid for the gift and walked out, looking at the red blossoms quietly. 'What have I become? Why would I ever gift someone something like this? It's a tragedy, really.'
