Sasuke had killed Itachi but that wasn't what Naruto was focusing on. He had hunted down Orochimaru's lab through the years and rummaged through all the things the man had experimented on. He knew that the best way to hurt Sasuke was to make what belonged to him turn its back on him. So Itachi might be dead...but that doesn't mean Naruto didn't have something that can Itachi on Sasuke.

He looked at the clone made of Itachi's DNA mixed with Minato's. He smiled. Looks like he will get a big brother after all...

A familiar face lies asleep in the tube of one of Orochimaru's laboratories. Blond hair in place of ebony. Blue eyes instead of Sharingan. The deep trenches of stress were almost non-existent on the smooth face. He had been working on the notes he found in every lab he raided with Jiraiya. He had found samples of DNA that belonged to his father and surprisingly Itachi's. How Orochimaru got his hands on either was anyone's guess. But it had been long in the planning and Naruto had a special seal in the lab that he had locked down with Uzumaki specials after the idea came to him one night watching Jiraiya drink himself blind after yet another failure with catching Orochimaru.

Sasuke's obsessed with Itachi.

Killing the man was all he ever dreamed about.

So Naruto decided to take that from him. Oh, Itachi's too useful to kill. So he thought he will steal Itachi for his own. Clearly the original would never betray Sasuke even if that stray became a world ending monster. Naruto thought that it was such a waste of talent and mind to let Itachi waste away. Not to mention even if Sasuke didn't kill him, the man was dying either way so his body was useless. He looked at Karin.

He smiled, "I apologize. Hinata would want me to be kinder to you. She's all about family, you see. But I simply can't find it in me to forgive your part in what happened to her,"

She didn't say anything, her mind's long broken.

He supposed he should feel sorry for her. It wasn't her fault but she no longer have any desire to live, having retreated to the back of her mind so deep she might as well be a vegetable. Sasuke had really done a number on her. She had been impregnated several times but each time she miscarriage from his violent version of abortion. So rather than keeping her around, he thought he should make better use of her. He looked at Jugou, asleep from the seals he had drawn all over him.

Honestly, if he wanted peace so much then why didn't he just die? It wasn't like he has anyone to live for. Death isn't that scary, just unfamiliar. Like the new kid in class.

Naruto really doesn't get these people.

Preparation done, he sacrificed Jugou for Edo Tensei. Moments later, Uchiha Itachi walked out from a coffin. He saw Naruto and then the prepared body inside the tank, alive and empty. He stared at the boy, "What are you planning?"

Naruto beamed, "I'm making you my Nii-san, dattebayo!"

Itachi frowned, "Why? After what Sasuke did because of what I had done to him?"

Naruto's smile slipped and his gaze was haunting, "So you do know your part in his sin,"

Itachi flinched. He was one of the few in ANBU that knew about Naruto before his defection. He didn't interact with the blond much, only watching him from afar in glimpses. Shisui thought that it was wrong what they were doing to the young Jinchuuriki. But Itachi always thought that something was wrong with Naruto. It was proven right when he found the boy murdering someone but Kakashi prevented him from interfering, saying that Sandaime approved of his work.

After he defected and was told to capture Naruto, he knew it won't be easy. The boy's only weakness might be Genjutsu but if he was caught, the Kyuubi took over and it was impossible to catch the Kyuubi in a Genjutsu with how he literally kept his eyes closed, using his preternatural senses instead to evade or attack. Kisame's Samehada almost broke the few time it clashed with Akkorokamui. In the end, Samehada was no competition against the original that inspired the Seven Swords. So in the end they had to retreat.
