This case is giving me a headache. No concrete proofs but all you can find is suspects.

And at home there is she. But today I barely heard something from her. She has confined herself in that room.

I knock her door twice. She doesn't respond so I enter the room.

The bathroom door is closed, light's on so she must be there. I wait for her and look around. The whole room seems different now. Filled with all her stuffs. Liveliness.

I heard the door open and it breaks my heart to see her like this. Her eyes are red. She was crying.

"You need something?" She asks me not meeting my eyes.
"I need to talk."
"Tell me Officer."
"Not here."

I brought her to the terrace. The sky is shining bright with all the starts. I look at her face. Dull.
"Beautiful."
She nods in affirmation.

"My dad once told me by looking at the sky
you can forget your pain. Compared to the sky your sorrows are insignificant. You ought to live to die. Make your life significant but remember to look up at sky and not down at your feet." I can't find any other words to confront her.

"You have done that."
"What?" I ask her.
"Made your life significant. Became an Officer. And look at me standing at the same place throughout my life. Worthless, useless, alone."

"You aren't useless Eve. You're the most significant person."

Silence.

"I can't take all this Rey. I can't. I lost mom. I almost lost Dad. I lost yo..

More silence.

"Stacy isn't involved right? She is the only person I had Rey. The only one."

I can't answer her questions now. All I can do is hold her. Hug her and I did it.

I held her close to me under the vast sky.

My burning heart finally found its ointment.
