Days Past.

Magnus's stomach growled, causing Tessa--who was arranging the chess pieces back on the board for a rematch between them--to raise her eyebrows and snort.
''What? I am hungry. Can't I be hungry?'' he asked defensively.
''You can,'' Tessa agreed with a laugh, ''Except you ate like ten mintues ago.''
''Those cookies were delicious. You are a good baker, Tessa. '' he shrugged and sighed longingly. The chocolate and smore cookies that Tessa had baked for them had been more than just delicious--they had been....heavenly, and Magnus knew it was selfish of him, but he wanted to ask her to bake some more cookies--even though they had a plan of ordering takeout food from a nearby chinese restaurant.
''I know.'' she chuckled and then, suddenly, felt a tug toward the window. With a soft gasp, she got up from the floor and walked toward the glass window that was on the other side of the living room. Peering out of it, she saw a red-haired woman--who was carrying a new born baby, wrapped in a blanket, on the crook of her arm and was holding with her other hand the hand of a little blond haired girl (she was probably two or three years old)--walking down the street hurriedly.
Tessa's heart beat in surprise and she found herself bitting at her lower lip. This woman was not a normal human. She was a shadowhunter. She had a sword strapped to her back, (it was glamored, so mundanes couldn't see the sword), but Tessa could see it. She could also see that the woman had glamoured her runes, and shadowhunters only glamoured their runes when...when they were running from someone.
Who was this woman running from? Was she in danger? Were her kids in danger?
The bigger question, Tessa thought inwardly, is why did I feel a pull toward her?
The only person she had ever felt a tug toward was Elizabeth, and she had died years ago. This red-haired woman was a stranger to her, so why in the angels name did Tessa feel a connection to her?
''Tessa?'' Magnus came over to her and peered out the window, not understanding what or who she was staring at. ''Uh, is there a reason as to why you have decided to stare out this window? Or do you just like the view from here?''
She gave him a sideward glare.
''No judgement,'' he added at her glare, ''When I have nothing to do, I stare out this window too. It's gives a nice view. Probably because I keep it way cleaner than the other windows in my apartement-''
Someone suddenly knocked at the front door, causing Tessa to stiffen up (she knew it was that red-haired woman) and Magnus to look at her with concern. ''Are you okay?''
''Yeah,'' she spoke, her voice too soft, ''I think you should open the door, Magnus,''
Magnus frowned, and wanted to say that whoever was on the door could wait, but look that flashed on Tessa's face--worry and panic--stopped him from saying anything. Sighing, he walked toward the door and opened it, only to raise his eyebrows in surprise at the red-haired woman who was standing in the doorway.
She had a baby in the crook of her arm and a small girl was holding her other hand, looking up at Magnus with wide, confusion filled green eyes.
The warlock gasped softly. Those green eyes looked famliar. Way too famliar.
Shaking that thought out of his mind, Magnus smiled gently at the girl, and she giggled softly before hiding behind her mother's legs. ''Aren't you a cutie,'' Magnus cooed before looking up at the woman and exhaling sharply in shock.
