A young man, scared of love's embrace,
His heart was shuttered, locked in place.
His life was filled with secret fears,
And doubts that filled him through the years.

The thought of love sent him in flight,
He could not bear the pain of it's bite.
His shattered heart wouldn't let him in,
To share his secrets and his pain.

He feared the thought of a love letter,
That would fill his heart with fear.
It was too much of a risk to take,
So he chose to deny love's fate.

His fear was too great to bear,
So he chose to keep his heart aware.
He'd rather suffer in his own way,
Than risk the pain and sorrow of love's decay.
