Loneliness is a cruel tyrantThat ever rules me with an iron handIt makes me feel forlorn and distantFrom all the joys and comforts of this land

Patience is a wise physicianThat ever heals me with a gentle touchIt makes me bear with calm submissionAll the ills and sorrows that are much

Loneliness and patience both I feelThey are my masters in this earthly stateThey teach me how to cope and to dealWith all the fortunes that are my fate

Loneliness and patience both I praiseThey are my graces from the heavenly rays
