𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝗼-𝐖𝗼𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 (𝐊𝐚𝐳 𝐱 𝐎𝐂)

004 "𝐔𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝗼𝐫"

Evelyn woke up on a Saturday morning in her room. Of course, her room was a hospital room, just with a little flair.

It had a regular hospital bed with a blue an white blanket placed on top of it. A TV dinner tray next to it with some things such as her phone and old pizza.  Her walls have pictures on it. One of her and her sister, and others taped in collages on the wall. There is a small closet with clothes in it.

She had her Doctors coat on and walked into the hospital and sat at the desk. After some minutes, she saw Kaz and Oliver walk in and take doctor's coats on the rack. "Oh, hey." She smiles.

"Hey, Eve," Oliver greeted back.

"Emergency!" A nurse yelled, walking in with two gurneys. "Instructo and Icicle are severely damaged!"

Evelyn's eyes widened as she realized who they were- her parents. Her heart was pounding as she instantly turned around and placed her elbows in her knees then rests her head. "Oh, no." She said quietly.

"What, Eve?" Oliver asked, standing up.

"Yo, Oliver!" Kaz says, getting his attention. "These are awesome superheros!"

Evelyn got annoyed and stood up, crossing her arms. "Oh, yeah?"

Horace comes to Evelyn. "Evelyn, can you do the surgery for them?"

Her face stiffens as she drops her arms and turns around. She exhales and fakes a smile. "Sure... Why not?" He walks away and she turns back to them. Before they walk away, she catches Kaz's arm.  "Kaz, can you two please perform the surgery for me?"

"Why? Wait... You seem desperate. Now I really wanna know." He says.

She sighs, "Just please do it. Then I'll... Do your math homework?"

"Fine. But only if you tell me why you want to - cause I'm nosey - and you already owe me a favor. So that's the favor." Kaz smiled innocently while crossing his arms.

"That's rat. Well played." She high fives him and walks away.

She goes to her room and grabs a small laundry basket to go to the hospitals laundry room. She empties it into the washing machine and starts the cycle. 

She sits at a seat and plays on her phone. Suddenly, Kaz appeared in the room.

"Hey, this seat taken?" He asks, referring to the seat across from her at the table.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, still focused on the game on her phone, only giving him a glance. "Aren't you supposed to do the operation?"

He sits down, and rests his arms on the table. "I let Oliver get the operation started. I wanted to know why you avoided the patients."

She sighed and turned her phone off and place it face-down. "You really wanna know why?"

"Yes. Do you really wanna say it? Cause you seem unsure."

"Yeah. I haven't had anyone to talk about it, maybe this will help." She smiles softly and rubs one of her arms. She exhales.

She starts, "They're my parents. Intructo and Icicle are my parents. My sister? Flame Thrower."

"Wait. So that makes you The Communicator? The Communicator?" Kaz asks in shock. "That is so cool! Still doesn't explain the other things though."

"Well, my comics stopped being made cause I'm technically retired. ... I got into huge fights with my parents all the time. It makes is easier to avoid them, you know? They unenrolled from school after I left. I have a room in here. I'm surprised Phoebe still lives with them," she scoffs. She looks at Kaz who looks slightly in shock.

"That's crazy. So, they took you out of school, you ran away, and they haven't spoken to you since?" He asks.

"Yeah. And I'm not planning on starting it today." She folds her arms and walks away from the room. She left Kaz there.

She didn't expect for her parents to still be in the room. She saw them on the gurney, staring at her.

"If it isn't the failure." Alexis, her mother mumbles to her husband.

Evelyn crosses her arms. "I can hear you," she rolls her eyes.

"I thought that was the point, wasn't it?" Her father, Finn asks.

Alexis laughs and nods. 

"You people make me sick. If it was Phoebe, you'd just love anything I do. You'd be all like, 'Oh, Phoebe! You're perfect in every way!' I hate you," she says to her parents and walks away.
