𝟎𝟏𝟔 "𝐅𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞" 𝐩𝐭. 𝟏

The next day at school, the group walked in to school. Of course, Evelyn and Kaz were still pretending to be a couple.

They were all at their lockers, as Kaz heard Stephanie bragging to her friends. "My dad's paying for me to go to that new fancy restaurant." He knew if he and Evelyn went, it'd make Stephanie jealous.

"Hey, Ev," he said.

Evelyn turned around, closing her locker. "Yeah?"

"Wanna go on a date?" She looked at him confused with furrowed eyebrows, until he lipsynced 'it's fake' and her eyes widened of realization.

"Um, sure. Where to?"

"That new fancy restaurant downtown."

Stephanie turned around, "really Kaz? Turns out I'm going there tonight, too. Coincidence. Maybe I'll see you there." She winked and walked to class and the bell rang.

In first period, math, Evelyn was paired up in a project with Oliver, thankfully since Evelyn didn't have any energy in the morning.

She was dozing off in class, like usual. Oliver nudged her arm, "Wake up. I am not gonna do all of this alone."

"Sorry, I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." She replied and took her pencil and started answering questions on her paper.

"Do you ever get a lot of sleep?"

Evelyn chuckled. "Probably not enough. Hey, this is really random, but how long has Kaz liked Stephanie?"

Oliver sighed, "a long time. Maybe 3 years? But she's never liked him back. She's a mean one."

"Tell me about it. What does he see in her?"

After school, Evelyn was preparing for the fake date. Kaz told her to wear something kinda simple. Phoebe was in there helping her, seeing she had nothing else to do.

Evelyn sat on her bed, a mirror on the TV dinner tray as she put in earrings. "Hey, so Kaz and I fake date, but once I found out Stephanie was going too, I felt... I don't know. Jealous? And she winked at him. Weird, right?"

Phoebe sat next to her, "Yeah. Ever thought maybe you like him?"

"What? No. Kaz? No." Evelyn sighed, "definitely not."

"Okay, good to know." Her sister replied, "bring me leftovers. And tell me the tea."

Evelyn arrived, seeing Kaz waiting outside. "Hey," he said with a smile.

"Hey. So where's our table?"

"Over here," he said and directed her and pulled her chair out.

Evelyn laughed as she sat in the chair. Kaz went across the table and sat in his own.

"So," he said, until he noticed a familiar bleach blonde. "She's here. Quick, act flirty."

"Act flirty." Evelyn told herself. She looked behind her, seeing her. Then said loudly, "Oh my gosh! Kazzy, this restaurant is so nice." Luckily, the weird talk got Stephanie's attention.

She looked jealous, but ignored it. Then Stephanie sat down and skimmed the menu.

Evelyn wanted to gag, but she knew she had to continue. Thankfully, Kaz said something first. "So, Evelyn, what do you want?"

"I'm thinking pasta. You?"

"Same."

After that boring exchange of words, Stephanie walked over in a fancy dress. "Hey, I almost forgot you guys came here. Mind if I have a seat?"

"Yeah, no of course." Kaz said. Of course, Stephanie just had to sit next to Kaz. "Don't forget Evelyn's here, too."

"Kaz! You're supposed to sit next to me. And call me Butter cup." Evelyn demanded. She was getting the biggest ick ever thought.

Kaz moved his chair next to her and they continued to conversation. It was pretty boring, just Evelyn demanding things from him and Stephanie flirting.

After the whole night, Kaz insisted on walking Evelyn back to Mighty Med.
