Evelyn wakes up the next morning, strapped to an IV machine.
Kaz walked over, "Soooo, how'd the mission go?" He teased.
Evelyn rolls her eyes but smiles. "Well I got a lot of burn marks thanks to my parents overwhelming me."
Kaz looks at her arms, "Yeah I can see that. How bad does it hurt?" Evelyn looked at him annoyed, as the answer should be obvious. "Nevermind." Kaz hands her a bottle of Aloe Vera.
"Thanks," she says. She winces at the pain. "It feels like I was walking in the middle of a fire. Which I was."
"What was the mission?" Kaz asks.
"It was saving people from a burning building. Not fun for me."
Oliver starts walking over and Evelyn mumbles to herself, "No, no, no. I don't wanna rant to him all about my problems, too."
"What? Eve, there's a difference between ranting about your problems and the truth." Kaz said.
Evelyn only mocked him as Oliver made his way over. "Hey, Kaz. Who's your patient?" He said then looked over and saw Evelyn. "What are you doing?"
"I may or may not be a superhero." She replied with a nervous chuckle. "The one you called ridiculous."
"Oh. Wait, is that why you got so overprotective about your parents?"
"Yeah, they're horrible. I quit six months ago, tried again and I failed and now I'm here." She said.
"Good to know."
Evelyn continues applying aloe vera and wincing to the pain of even touching her arm.
A few minutes later, her sister, Phoebe comes in. "Hey, are you okay?"
"No, thanks to Mr and Mrs Idiot." Evelyn replied, but gave a smile seeing her sister. Phoebe pulled a chair next to her gurney. "Oh, did I tell you I convinced Horace to enroll me back into school?"
"What? That's awesome." Phoebe replied.
Kaz and Oliver overheard and looked shocked. "Really?" Oliver asked, "That's so cool."
"Yeah, I'm a little scared though," she admitted.

Visiting hours were over, and Kaz and Oliver stayed overnight to make sure Evelyn was okay.
"I'm fine guys, you can leave for the night." She said, but really just wanted some excuse to get up and walk around.
They argued back and refused to leave, and Evelyn just rolled her eyes. "Whatever, it's like 3 AM, anyways." She said, "I just want to get done with being a patient at my own workplace."
