Hermione walked through the over crowded streets of London, tears streaming down her blotched face. After three years and defeating the Dark Lord with him, Hermione had broken up with her red haired boyfriend Ronald Weasley. It had not been at all easy for her to do this. It would smash his fragile heart into so many pieces and now hers was at breaking point as well.
The problem with Ron was that he was quick to temper and Hermione had never been able to have an informed conversation with him. His knowledge was just not enough to cater for her intellect thoughts, and they only remained together because Hermione loved the passionate romance that shared, but that she could find elsewhere.
Hermione felt as though she was in another world, with other people pressed against her as they walked to various destination. She was not looking where she was headed and walked into many people, not being able to apologise for fear of breaking into sobs. Throughout her childhood, she had always hated people that pushed and shoved without uttering a simple 'sorry', but now she was one of them, obliterating her open hatred.Thoughts sped in and out of Hermione's quick-witted brain. Would this effect her friendship with Harry and Ginny? Would Ron be able to move on? Would Molly Weasley still treat her like the mother she never had? In the end it was too much for the strong Hermione, so she walked into the ominous alleyway looming to her left and sat down to cry.
Her body shuddered as she broke out in sobs. Brown ringlets stuck to her wet face and her brown eyes were fringed with red. She found her bottom lip bleeding because her buck-teeth had been digging into it, trying to find some unavailable refuge. In Hermione's meltdown, she had not noticed the gang of dark figures encircling her. One of them wolf-whistled piercingly, causing her to look up in distress.
"What do we have here" spat the ring leader of the group.
Hermione looked around at their faces filled with malice and hatred. Through a gap in their cloaked bodies, she saw a blue police box just opposite to where she was sitting. She could have sworn that it wasn't there before, but if she could break through the tightening circle, she would have a chance to escape what she knew was coming.
Now she really cursed herself for dumping Ron as then she wouldn't be in the fix she was in now. Hermione stood up and started to run towards the police box, but it was no good as her high heel got stuck in the loose pavement causing her to cannon ball into one of the gang members. He grabbed Hermione holding a small knife to her neck, pulling her hair to make them face-to-face. His face was painted in red and black patterns with teeth filed down to vicious points and eyes that looked as though they had come straight from the fires of hell.
"This one looks nice, I cannot wait to see if it tastes nice as well!"
A cackle of evil laughter spread throughout the gang. Hermione was terribly confused as she had not expected to be eaten! At the same time that Hermione had 'MUDBLOOD' carved on her arm, Fenrir Greyback had threatened to eat Hermione, but it seemed that this threat was going to be carried out.
Using her perifferal vision, Hermione saw a man wearing a red bow tie come out of the police box. He was wielding what appeared to be a metal wand and walked behind the leader, somehow without being seen. He jabbed the metal wand into the neck of the monster and his head fell sideways, as if the wand had unscrewed the hinges of his head. The mysterious man then pressed something on his metal wand and all of the gang members' heads collapsed sideways followed by a blinding column of blue light.
Hermione staggered out of the beast's limp grip and backed onto the wall."Thank you so much, sir, what were they?"
"Sir' is too formal, just call me Doctor. They were robots planted to carry out the 'Master's last wish, to destroy Earth. I have been tracking them for years and have at last managed to destroy them. Now I will be off, and please stay out of the shadows."With that the man climbed back into the police box and it warped, twisted then vanished all together.
