No spell was required, Godric and Hermione's trio climbed up stairs that spiralled around the magnificent bird statue. Their footsteps echoed around the stone chamber and multiplied, sounding like a troop of men was marching to war.

At the top of the staircase sat a chocolate-wooden door covered in brass decorations with a gleaming knocker located on either door. Godric grasped one knocker in his stubby hand and gave a series of sharp taps that echoed down the staircase.

The sound of chairs scraping from behind the door met their ears and the heavy door slid open revealing a kindred lady with dark hair, pale skin and a long yellow dress crossed with wizard robes. She looked very pretty with dangling pearl earrings at her ears and her perfume that smelt like the sea completed her demeanour.

"Hello Godric! Good to see you have made some friends. Come in, all of you!"

Godric Gryffindor lead the way into what Hermione knew to be Dumbledore's office and followed the lady to a ring of lounge chairs around a fire. The room was very clearly separated into four decor choices; yellow, red, blue and green.

"Good afternoon, friends of Godric Gryffindor. I am Helga Hufflepuff, one of the four witches and wizards in charge of this construction. May I ask your names, since mr. Gryffindor is so hopeless at introducing people."

Helga reproached Godric with a smile before turning expectantly to Hermione.

"Lovely to meet you Miss Hufflepuff! I'm Hermione Granger, of a half-blood status, and these are my good friends Jack and the Doctor."

"Why hello M'am." Jack grinned broadly at Helga in his usual, flirty way.

"Jack, stop it." Those were the first words spoken by the Doctor since they had entered Hogwarts and it somehow made Hermione slightly less agitated.

Out of the blue, Godric Gryffindor jumped up and scuttled towards the red sector of the room. Everyone quietly awaited his return. He came scurrying back a few moments later with a jar in his hand that was foggy like the White Sea glass that you can pluck from the beach. He sat back down in his chair with much gusto whilst Helga just slightly shook her head.

"Honey Pops anyone?"

Godric passed the jar that was emitting a delicious honey fragrance towards Hermione, Jack and the Doctor. Each feeling inclined to take one grabbed one of the cookie-like sweets and placed them in their mouths. They tasted quite stale and alarm registered on each of their faces as the cookie grew sticky and expanded, filling their mouths. Just as the confections felt as though they couldn't expand anymore, they popped releasing a warm, gooey liquid that was in great contrast with the stale biscuit.

By the time glee masked Hermione's face, Godric Gryffindor was having a laughing fit.

"Whenever he has new friends he gives them those cookies and never tires of their shock."

Helga tutted slowly as she rolled her eyes at the over-uses joke.

"See my Ma, she was an experimenter and always experimented with food and magic. One day she made these and had quite a nasty shock at first but grew to love the taste. What do you think?"

"I like them!" said Jack whilst looking at Helga.

"Do you think I could have another, Godric?" asked the Doctor whilst pulling out his sonic screw driver.

"Of course! My friend."

Godric pulled out another and tossed it to the Doctor who started prodding it with his screwdriver that was making all sorts of funny noises.

"Marvellous! brilliant! I have never seen anything quite so extraordinary!"

"Is everything alright? Doctor isn't it."

"Yes yes, call me the Doctor. This is just a very clever design. Your Ma was a very clever woman Godric I will give you that!"

The Doctor had realised he was making quite a spectacle so instantly put his screwdriver back in his pocket with the TARDIS and placed the Honey Pop in his mouth. Hermione quickly tried to start a different conversation before someone started to ask questions about who they really were.

"So Miss Hufflepuff, we have come to this grand construction looking for work, which Godric has offered. We were wondering if we could get a job as your personal assistants."

Godric and Hermione's trio leaned forward in their seats, eagerly awaiting Helga Hufflepuff's response.

"Of course I would love your help. However, there is a particular task that needs a young, trustworthy witch to be doing. I will confirm with Rowena if course, but all three of you certainly have a job here now!"

Helga stood up and went of to the blue section of the room whilst Hermione pulled a scared face with a thumbs up to Jack and the Doctor. Hermione had a hunch about what their task was to be, but she was sincerely hoping she was wrong.
