Hermione was amazed at what she saw inside of the Tardis. The inside of the Tardis was substantial in size with a large engine of some sort in the middle. Tubes and buttons adorned the engine in an entirely miscellaneous fashion with some sort of tunnel shooting out the of the centre. Stairs and yellow lights were riddled amongst the floor and walls with cords running over the roof.
"Undetectable extension charm," said Hermione, turning to face the Doctor. Even though she said it, she knew that no charms or spells were at work in the mystical Tardis.
"Incorrect, the Tardis is bigger on the inside. That is the work of the Time Lords of old." The Doctor waved his hand around at all of the contraptions around the space. Hermione walked around, marvelling at all of the devices until she came upon a cube inscribed with some foreign text.
"What is that?"
"That.... What's your name again?"
"Hermione"
"That, Hermione, is a box that has Ancient Gallifreyian written on it. This language has upmost power. Sometimes enough to consume stars!"
"Well, what does it say?"
"Hello Sweetie."Hermione rolled her brown eyes and paced around the room. She did, of course, believe what the Doctor said. Hermione had always been very trusting, even of total strangers, and this had also made her victim of many of Harry and Rons' 'Gullible' pranks.
Hermione reached a section of wall that hosted a fading cork board that held many pictures, some sepia and grainy, others brand new. The pictures all hosted one man, different in nearly every photo, and someone else, like a sidekick of some sort. Hermione spun round to face the Doctor who was carefully placing his fez on the control board. She couldn't help but notice how good his hair looked, smooth and dark brown, slightly standing up in places giving him a care-free look.
"What are these?"
The Doctor looked over to where Hermione standing and noticed what she was inquiring about.
"Ah, those are me and my assistants. You see I have twelve lives being a Time Lord and the man in each picture is me through my various lives. Believe it or not, it is true."
Hermione did believe what the Doctor was saying, no matter how far-fetched it sounded. If she had been able to become a witch, why should different universes not exist? Voldemort was immortal, in a way, so it really isn't that unlikely that this man can change faces each time he dies.
"I believe you," Hermione muttered.
She looked over at the Doctor and he was smiling a genuine, relieved smile.
"You are the first person that has heard so much about all at once, the ONLY person that has heard about my life within the first 24 hours of meeting me and the first person to believe me so quickly. Tell me all about yourself, Hermione, to make things fair."
"Lets go to Hogsmead and talk about my life then," said Hermione, suddenly feeling very hungry as she forgot to eat or drink anything for breakfast."Hogsmead?" The Doctor was at a total loss as to what 'Hogsmead' was. He may have ventured through parallel universes and explored time and space, but the wizard world was totally unknown to him. He had been puzzled when Hermione talked about 'Charms' and 'Muggles' and 'Wizards', but Hogsmead? Was that the pig pen viewer or something?
"Hogsmead is a cute village that has a great little pub with delicious drinks. You'll love, well I love it. I still don't know you as a person, Time Lord or whatever."
"Sure, I'll come. I'll just get the Tardis ready to move."
"Is there anyway you can just lock the Tardis and just come with me?"
"Yes, but I take the Tardis with be everywhere I go. You can come with me for this trip. Savvy?"
"Alright, but only I know the way."
"Oh, looks like I'll be locking up the Tardis then."
A hurt look spread across the Doctors face. Hermione could tell that he really loved the big, blue Tardis."I understand that you love it, so I will shrink it on the outside so that you can carry it with you. Savvy?"
The Doctor's face lit up like a kid being offered candy.
"Savvy!"
"Lets get out of here then."They walked out onto the street and Hermione muttered 'Reducio' and focused her wand on the Tardis until it was the size of a keyring. The Doctor ran towards it and placed it carefully in his coat pocket, thanking Hermione all the while. Both of them were secretly wondering if the inside was unchanged in size, although it was unlikely that Time Lord science still held up in magic.
Hermione led the way to her small apartment with the Doctor following at her heels. When they entered her cozy living room that had a cleared space specially designed for apparating, she linked her arm through the Doctors then apparated straight to Hogsmead.
