Maybe have a few tissues ready...I cried writing it...
—————————
The following morning, Hope and Josie lay tangled together, partially covered by the bedsheets, the light shining through the sheer curtains, and Josie smiles softly at the way the light makes Hope's eyes sparkle.
They hadn't slept much at all throughout the night, maybe an hour or so, and Josie is definitely exhausted, but last night was perfect, and she wouldn't change a single thing.
The brunette plays with Hope's fingers, loving the way her engagement ring feels on her own, and her smile grows as Hope traces her face.
Hope grins, matching her fiancé, "What's got you all smiley? What are you thinking about?"
Josie shrugs lazily, though her grin never leaves her lips, "I get to love you forever.. I'm happy."
Hope's smile grows at that, and she leans in to capture Josie's lips in a tender kiss, "I love you."
Josie hums, "I love you more."
Hope shakes her head, whispering against Josie's lips, "Not possible."
Josie giggles softly before closing the distance again, humming into the kiss, "Can we just stay here forever?"
Hope sighs, running her fingertips up and down Josie's bare sides, "I wish. But my family will be at the school soon. And I have to face the chaos at some point."
Josie nods, "How do you think our families will react to the news...about our engagement, and you marking me, and about your transition to the full Tribrid?"
Hope considers it. Maybe it wouldn't be such a great idea to dump all of that news on them at one time.
Josie practically reads her mind, "Do you think we should wait until after your transition to tell them we're getting married? That's gonna be a lot for them to take in already..."
"Are you okay with waiting?"
Josie nods, "Yes. Just for today though. I'm not sure I can keep our secret for any longer." She's far too excited to stay quiet about it. She wants everyone to know that she gets to be with Hope for the rest of her life.
Hope grins, "One day," she agrees, before bringing Josie's knuckles up to her lips, lightly leaving kisses against them before she mutters a spell, cloaking the ring on Josie's finger.
Hope moves to slide out of bed, but Josie wraps her legs around her tighter, "Wait, just a few more minutes?"
Hope chuckles softly with a smile, laying back down, "Of course, love."
————————
After laying for a few more minutes and Josie finally letting Hope out of bed for them to get dressed, they make their way out of their bedroom, making their way toward the kitchen. And Hope begins making some breakfast, while Josie starts the coffee.
And neither of them can manage to wipe their smiles from their faces.
After a minute of still being alone, as Josie wraps her arms around Hope from behind, they hear footsteps coming down the stairs.
Josie turns toward her blonde twin as she enters the room, glaring at the couple as she tiredly pulls out the barstool.
But Josie's smile is beaming, and she actually forgets she's supposed to keep her mouth shut, "Lizzie, guess wh—!"
