I sat up with a gasp as my hands shot up to my stomach. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and I immediately started panicking as I tried to push to person away. My mind immediately jumping to a conclusion that it was Vecna.
"Hey, hey, hey. You're okay, it's just me. It's all right, you're safe." Eddie spoke in a calm, soothing tone and I immediately leaned into his touch. I looked around and I noticed that I was back at Steve's place.
"Here, drink some of this." The metalhead instructed as he held up a bottle of water and helped me drink some. Once I had enough, I waved him off before studying him. He had some bandages on his neck and arms but from what I could see he was okay.
"How ya feelin, kid? You wiped out pretty hard." He asked an I shrugged only to immediately regret it when I felt a sharp pain in my side.
"Oh uh, Nancy an I patched you up as best we could under the circumstances. Steve wanted to take us to a hospital a few towns over but Murray said it was to risky." He explained in a hushed tone
"How long was I out? And where is everyone else? Is everyone okay? Are you okay?" I asked with a nervous sigh, running a hand through my matted hair.
"Uh about four an a half days and they're at the hospital with Red and Sinclair. Doctors say she's gonna be fine, she'll need glasses and a she'll be wheelchair bound for a bit but nothing she can't handle."
"Good, good. An uh, what about yo-"
"Eddie we brought food- Trice!" Dustin exclaimed dropping the bag of food on the ground as he ran forward, gently wrapping his arms around me.
"You scared the shit out of me, you know that? Floating in the air then falling off the trailer the way you did." He asked resting his head against mine.
"Sorry, I just...I freaked. Eddie ran off and I knew I wouldn't make it in time to do anything so I grabbed the guitar and did the only thing I could think of to save him." I explained meekly, ducking my head so I didn't have to see the concerned look in his face.
"Well it was metal as hell. And you did, you saved my life kid." Eddie commented happily, bringing a smile to my face.
"So uh...are we still wanted by the police or..." I asked really wanting to know what I'd woken up too.
"Nancy and Murray are taking care of it. They left town about a day ago on some kind of mission. With everyone moving out of Hawkins and the news from all over the state coming in, Nancy says they have to get ahead of the story-"
"Wait, leaving Hawkins? What do you mean?" I asked cutting off Dustin's explanation of what I'd missed.
"Well, the gates opened up. Sort of ripping the town apart. There was an earthquake, buildings and homes destroyed all over town. So of course, people packed up their lives and decided to get the hell out before things could get worse." Eddie sighed before glancing at Dustin to make sure he'd said all he needed to say.
"So...what now? I mean, we won...right?" I questioned hesitantly
"Yeah. We won for good this time. El couldn't see anything when she tried to find the Upside Down in the void. Venca is dead for sure, Will said he can't feel him anymore." Dustin smiled grabbing my hand
"It's really over then?"
"Yeah kid. It's over." A voice said drawing everyone's attention to the doorway and I gasped.
"Hop?" I whispered as my eyes began to water and Dustin quickly helped me to my feet.
"Hey kid, you miss me?" Hopper asked with a smirk.
