I'd been confined to my room for the last three weeks on mandatory bed rest and I've been absolutely miserable. My pain medication barely works and I'm only allowed to lay flat on my back until I'm fully healed.

"Bee you have a visitor!" Mom called as she knocked on my door and I sighed slowly pulling myself into a sitting position.

"Let them in." I called through clenched teeth and the door opened.

"Woah, woah, woah. Careful sweetheart, you'll pull your stitches." She gasped rushing into the room to help me as Eddie came in after her.

"I'm okay Ma, I promise." I mumbled and she nodded handing me a bowl of beef stew that Mike had brought over yesterday from Karen.

"Bee, I've got to go to work. Will is in his room if you need anything, Dustin can come over later but please don't do anything strenuous. Don't let her over work herself." She said from the doorway as Eddie an I nodded.

"Oh and you can take your meds as soon as you finish eating." She added before leaving and I turned to see an unfamiliar guitar case in Eddie's hand.

"You get a new guitar?" I asked confused and he smiled at me while shaking his head.

"Not exactly, I um. I was going to give it to you at you next lesson but then the mall fire happened so I thought I'd just bring it over now. Give you something to do while you recover from your carnival injury." He shrugged, I almost asked him what he was talking about before I remembered that Jonathan told him I fell off the ferris wheel during the 4th of July fair. Why he said that, I have no idea but it was a good cover so I didn't argue.

"You didn't." I said with wide eyes, putting my bowl on my bedside table as he gently sat the guitar case in my lap.

"You did most of it, I just made the last payment." He smirked looking as excited as I was. I slowly popped the clasps open and lifted the lid before I gasped covering my mouth. It was my guitar, a Fender Duo-Sonic II Solid Body Electric Guitar from 1965, it was absolutely beautiful. And now it was really mine.

"Eddie! You shouldn't have, oh my god! This is amazing!" I squealed picking the guitar up as he moved the case so I could hold it properly.

"Oh one more thing. Can't play a guitar without a pick." He muttered pulled a brass chain from his pocket to reveal a necklace almost identical to his.
