Dixon

Even though everyone told me to give Dyson time, I refused to listen and kept leaving voicemails for him. I was hoping Dyson would answer my call and grew antsy when he didn't.

Decker tried to reason with me, but it didn't work. I would only relax once I spoke to Dyson. My family didn't get it. No matter what happened or if Dyson and I fought, I would never concede unless I talked to him. He was the only one who could make me.

"What is wrong with you?" Decker asked me

I cleaned Dyson's room, ensuring it was presentable when he returned. "Nothing. I'm keeping Dyson's room cleaned."

"Why?"

"So, he doesn't return to a messy room." I rolled my eyes.

"You make no sense." Decker shook his head.

"Why? Because I want our brother to know I care?"

"No, Dyson has some weird control over you."

"No, he doesn't. You don't understand our relationship."

"Then explain it to me."

"When Dyson's here, I worry less. He takes care of me."

"What?"

I looked at Decker.

"What do you mean Dyson takes care of you?" Decker gave me a sideways glance. "Don't tell me you're into some freaky shit."

I shook my head. "No, it's not like that."

"Then what is it?"

"Dyson keeps me from reacting and calms me. When I have a rough day, he takes control and handles issues."

"Wait. Are you telling me that you allow Dyson to run your life?"

"It's better when he does." I sat down on Dyson's bed and heaved a sigh.

"It makes sense since you follow our lead." Decker shrugged.

"Deck, I don't know any other way. I like people taking care of me."

"You learn something new about your brothers every day. I learned you like people to dominate you."

"Don't tell Ma and Dad."

"Oh, I won't. Trust me. I won't."

It's not something I would admit to many people. Dyson found out by accident. Our relationship changed once he did and worked.

"Yeah, I'm gonna go now." Decker left the bedroom.

I finished cleaning Dyson's room and headed to the restaurant. Even with my day off, I didn't want to sit at home. I arrived and slid onto a stool at the bar.

Brody approached me. "Hey, I thought you were off."

"I am. I didn't feel like sitting home." I shrugged.

"Are you hungry?"

"Yeah, sure."

"What do you want?"

I blew air past my lips and thought about it. What did I want?"

"How about a burger and fries?"

I nodded.

"I'll place the order and be right back."

I nodded again. That was easy.

Brody went into the kitchen, returned after placing my order, and leaned on the bar top. "So, do you always have trouble deciding what to eat?"
