After our questions, Gabby got suspicious. I didn't blame her since our questions seemed a bit crazy. She wanted to know the truth. So, we told her.

Gabby sat in her chair and looked at us in disbelief. "You broke into Albert's house to search it. Are you insane?"

"No, but your little neighbor friend is the poster child for Norman Bates' love child," Decker said.

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around you committing a felony with home invasion," Gabby said.

"Wait. You're worried about us breaking into Albert's house over him keeping his mummified grandmother around?" I asked.

"No, because that's just sick," Gabby said.

"No shit," Decker huffed.

"We need to figure out how psycho Albert is keeping us, dead grandmother, around without anyone noticing," I said.

"Hang on." Gabby pushed my chair from the computer and moved in front of it.

"Hey!"

"Hey, nothing. You're in my workplace. You can punish me later."

"Will you two knock it off?" Decker asked.

We shrugged.

Gabby turned to the computer screen and searched for Albert's name.

"Wait. This psycho is named Albert Bates?" Decker asked.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Fantastic. No wonder the guy is off his rocker. He has the same damn last name as that other psycho."

I rolled my eyes. For someone who's the balance between Dixon and me, Decker can't keep his shit together.

The computer searched the database for Albert until it made a hit.

Gabby scrolled and read through the info. "Whoa."

"What?" I asked.

"Take a look." She moved aside so Decker and I could see.

Albert had a rap sheet a mile long. What caught my eye was he had a degree in chemical engineering.

Gabby printed the information before logging off and retrieving the printout. "I could get into a lot of trouble for showing you this information." She handed me the papers.

I took them, folded them, and shoved them into my back pocket. "But you won't."

"So, how do we let the police know about crazy Albert? We can't tell them why we know. They would arrest us," Decker said.

"We need to trap Albert, so he slips up," I said.

"How? We have nothing to work in our favor. We can't knock on his door and piss him off."

"No, but bait works as well," Gabby said.

Decker and I looked at Gabby.

"What do you mean bait?" I asked.

"We know Albert had a thing for me."

"No. Absolutely not."

"You didn't let me finish."

"Fine, but you're still not meeting him."

"I didn't say I was."

"Then what are you saying?"

"We could use a decoy." Gabby looked at Decker and smiled.

"Why don't I like this plan?" Decker asked.
