I made repairs inside the house when the door opened and closed. Gabby walked into the kitchen and set her bag on the countertop. I tightened a hinge, put my screwdriver down, and stepped toward her. Gabby tried to move, but I caged her against the countertop.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Um, upstairs."
I chuckled and shook my head. "Try again."
"The living room." Gabby gripped the countertop.
"You started this mess. Now, you want to run. I don't think so." I moved my hand to her face and crashed my lips into hers.
If Gabby wanted to make up some cockamamie story, she would find I enjoy control. I pulled back slightly and brushed my lips against hers before nipping her bottom lip. Then I pulled back and looked at her with her eyes closed.
Gabby opened her eyes. "I thought we were pretending."
"Are you sure you want to pretend?" I arched my brow and smirked.
Gabby raised her brow. "You're very confusing."
"Why, because you weren't expecting me to kiss you?"
Gabby shoved me gently backward. "No, because you don't talk much about yourself."
"What's there to say?"
"How about where you came from?"
I crossed my arms across my chest. "Why do you care about where I came from?"
"It would give me some insight into how your mind works."
"Okay. My parents kicked me out. Are you satisfied?"
"Why would your parents kick you out?"
"We disagreed. They didn't like how I was living my life. I didn't like how they discarded me." I shrugged.
"That doesn't make any sense."
"Neither does my family."
Gabby arched her brow. What part didn't she get? Contrary to popular belief, my family wasn't the loving people others thought they were. They picked and chose who they loved.
"Do you have any siblings?" She asked.
"You won't let this rest will you?"
"No. Now cough up the information, buddy."
I quirked my brow.
"Please." Gabby fluttered her eyelashes at me.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. I have twin brothers."
"Oh, are you the oldest?"
"No, I mean I'm part of twin brothers."
Gabby cocked her head and scrunched her face.
"I'm a triplet."
Gabby stared at me without blinking. "Um, okay."
"Can we stop talking about my family now? It makes my dick itch." I started packing up the tools and put the toolbox away.
******
GabbyOkay, Dyson's a little uptight about his family. I can work with that.
"Since you told me barely anything about yourself, I'll tell you about me," I said.
Dylan strolled toward me. "Like what?"
"I like seafood. There I said it."
"Seafood?"
