Gabby
After spending time with Sofie and Rachel, I headed home to deliver Grams and Dyson their treats. I didn't understand why Decker gave me a slice of apple pie to give Dyson.
I walked into the house, set the treats down, and hung up my coat and bag. Grams exited the kitchen when she heard the front door and greeted me. I handed her the treats. She hugged me before running off with her cupcakes. I giggled.
Dyson came down the stairs and strolled toward me with his hands shoved in his front jeans pockets. I picked up the plastic container and held it in front of me.
Dyson took it from me, looked at it, then back at me. "Where did you get this?"
"A guy named at the bakery said you would know." I held up my finger.
"You met Decker?" Dyson arched his brow.
"Yeah. It's disturbing to meet someone who looks like you. I thought I was seeing things."
Dyson looked at me with a neutral expression while he held the container of sliced pie in his hand.
"I didn't understand what Decker meant when he said you would know where the pie came from." I lowered my hand and rested it on my hip.
"Decker would sneak me a slice of apple pie when upset since it's my favorite pie."
"Really?"
"Shocking, isn't it? That I would like something so basic."
"I don't think so. Apple pie is a staple in most people's homes since most people like it. It has the right combination with a balance of sweetness and tartness, like us. I'm sweet, and you're a tart." I smirked.
Dyson quirked his brow. "Oh?"
I stepped toward Dyson. "What are you going to do about it?"
Dyson set the container down, pulled me to him, and crashed his lips against mine. He cradled my head and deepened the kiss while my arms dangled to the sides. Every time Dyson kissed me, I lost all control of my senses. I couldn't even think straight.
I finally broke from my daze and pulled away. "Wait. You distracted me."
Dyson crossed his arms across his chest. "I didn't see you complaining when I had my tongue down your throat."
I gave Dyson a pointed look. "Will you stop that?"
"Stop what?"
"Acting all dominant." I waved my hand around. "I can't think when you do that."
"You enjoy my dominance." Dyson smirked.
"That's not the point. We need to talk."
Dyson cocked his head. "About what?"
"I don't know much about you. How can I date someone when I know nothing about them?"
"You didn't seem bothered with it when you dragged me into your scheme."
"Well, I changed my mind." I shrugged. "I don't want to start a relationship with secrets."
Dyson studied me for a few minutes. "Fine. But I'm eating my pie if you'll grill me." He walked away to retrieve a fork, returned, and sat at the kitchen table.
I walked into the kitchen, brewed two coffees, and returned to join him. I set a coffee in front of Dyson and took a seat.
"What do you want to know?" Dyson opened the container and dug in.
"I know you have a brother who is your spitting image."
"That's because Decker is my triplet."
"Huh?"
