I groaned as I tried to sit up. Apparently, I had face-planted the ground. I rubbed the side of my head and looked around the area in awe, knowing exactly where I am. "How the hell did I get here?"
"That is what I would like to know, Mademoiselle."
I looked up and was staring into the eyes of Gerard Butler.
No.
Erik Destler. The Phantom.
"S-Sorry." I tried to stand up, but wobbled a little. I was surprised when I felt a gloved hand grabbed my arm, and another hand placed on my back to help steady me. "Thank you."
"It's quite alright." Erik lead me over to the swan bed and sat me down. "Perhaps you can enlighten this being about how it is you ventured into the deepest, darkest depths of what has been my home for many years? With the exception of Madame Giry, nobody has ever dared to wander into this part of the opera house."
I shook my head. "Y-You wouldn't believe me even if I told you, Monsieur."
He placed a hand on my cheek and turned my head so that we're making eye contact. It took a lot of self control to not lean into his touch. "Try me."
Most certainly.
I swallowed. Hard. Damn that smooth voice of his. "Um...well-"
"Ella?"
I stood up and looked at Lizzy wide eyed as she walked towards me from wherever she came from. "Lizzy? Tell me this isn't some weird dream we're having and that we'll wake up soon?"
"If it were, then why the bloody hell would I be in it?" Leo emerged from the water dripping wet from head to toe. He stood beside Lizzy tried to fix his hair. "That damn monkey music box thing is possessed, I swear."
"Music box?" Erik walked over to us with that same music box with the monkey sitting on a cushion we saw earlier. "You mean this? How do you know of it?"
Lizzy pointed at Erik and gasped in shock. "No way...Gerard Butler?!"
Erik took a step away from Lizzy and moved closer to me. Not that I minded. "Pardon me, but I haven't a clue who this gentleman is you speak of."
"If he isn't who you thought he was, then that would mean..." Leo's eyes held surprise, but when he looked around the lair, his eyes held surprise in them. "Holy sh-"
"Language, child." I chuckled when Lizzy said that, earning a look from Erik that I couldn't place.
"Would one of you please explain what is going on?" Erik asked, sounding slightly annoyed. "How did you manage to escape the traps that I had set up unscathed?"
I turned to face him and smiled nervously while pointing at the music box. "Please try not to freak out when we tell you this, but that music box you created? Well, my idiot friend here found it, played it, and now the three of us are here."
Lizzy patted my shoulder. "Correction: I found it, we all agreed that we would listen to the song it plays, and you sang along to the tune before we arrived here."
Erik looked as if he didn't believe us, not that I would blame him. "That's impossible. You couldn't have had possession of it. It has been here all along."
"Well, maybe it's enchanted?" Leo asked.
I hummed in thought. "Quite possibly...I mean, if we're here in this world, then it kind of makes sense. How else would we have gotten here?"
Erik looked from Leo to Lizzy before his eyes finally landed on mine again. "Correct me if I am wrong, but are you saying that all three of you are from a different world?"
