"So, you said you've been hearing voices in your head?" Leo asked. I was sitting on my bed, Lizzy was sitting on hers, and Leo was pacing up and down the room like a detective.
I shook my head. "No...well, kind of. I've been having flashbacks earlier this evening."
"Everyone gets those, Ella." Said Lizzy.
"Have you ever had memories that belong to someone else?" I asked the both of them. They both looked at me strangely. "Those flashbacks. The memories. They belonged to Aria Rivière."
Leo raised a brow. "You mean 'The Hummingbird'? I've heard about her from the stagehand crew after the performance."
"What did they say?" I asked.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Just that she became part of the orchestra around the same time Carlotta became Prima Donna. She was a child musical genius who turned was given the position of Prima Musician, but turned it down and gave that position to someone who needed the money more than she did for their family instead. That's the reason why she's been known as The Hummingbird."
"But you know what else? That drunkard, Buquet, said that she went missing one day and never returned. He thinks that she was murdered by The Opera Ghost, and her body was dumped somewhere. Apparently, she was only 15 years old."
"No." I shook my head. "Erik wouldn't do something like that."
"How can you be so sure?" Leo asked. "According to the film and musical, he's suppose to murder Buquet soon, so who's to say he hadn't done it before?"
"I..." I hesitated. "I just know. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but I have a feeling that he didn't murder Aria. Maybe they knew each other?"
Lizzy nodded slowly. "Now that you mention it, he did say that you look like someone he once knew. Madame Giry did as well."
"Like I said, it's just a coincidence-"
"Meow~"
Ayesha ran into the room and jumped on my lap. I stroked her fur and smiled. "Hello, Ayesha. It's good to see you again." She jumped off my lap and walked a bit before stopping by the door. She tilted her head to the side, then she ran out of the room before we could say anything.
"I think she wants you to follow her." Leo said.
Lizzy sat up and exchanged a look with Leo. "Yeah, it's best if you go. I get the feeling she still doesn't like the both of us."
"She doesn't hate you guys. Give her some time to adjust to the both of you being around, and she'll love you." I got up and ran after Ayesha, not wasting a second. She could have gotten anywhere for all I know.
"Meow." Or she could just be down the hallway. She stopped walking and glanced at me before taking off into a sprint.
I giggled. "Two can play at this game, Ayesha." I ran after her down the hallway, making sure to keep an eye on her so that I didn't lose sight of her. She runs pretty fast.
Either that, or I'm just as slow as a snail.
Most definitely the latter part.
When Ayesha finally stopped running, I found her scratching at a door. I picked her up gently and looked from Ayesha, to the door, then back to Ayesha again in confusion. "The Prima Donna room?" Why would she want me to go here? Maybe she wants me to take her back to Erik?
I was about to knock on the door to see if Christine was there, when I heard Christine and Raoul sing. I didn't want to interrupt them, so I quietly opened the door and stepped inside the room, trying not to make a sound.
