Six days. It had been six days since Renee Potter had seen Remus Lupin. That's two days longer than it was supposed to be. Nobody could do anything. She had begged Dumbledore to let the Aurors investigate. But he was adamant that they stay out of it. He wouldn't even hint at what Remus' mission was. She had never hated anyone more than she hated Albus Dumbledore right now. He hadn't even let her visit Regulus after she flooed to his office to chat. He was probably the only person that could calm her down.
"We can't do anything, love. He'll come back." Sirius said as he placed tea in front of her at the kitchen table. Just last week Remus was sitting where she was. Just last week James and her had teased him about marriage and children. Right now, she only had Sirius. He stood behind her, massaging her shoulders, with the same concerned look on his face. James, Lily, and Peter had left an hour ago. Dorcas and Marlene three hours ago. They had all waited for her to return from Hogwarts to know the plan of action. All deflated when they heard that there was no plan and no action.
"Or his body will show up." She muttered morbidly, letting a tear fall from her eyes. Sirius cringed, his hands stilling on her shoulders. He let them slide down, wrapping her in an embrace and kissing her cheek. "I didn't even tell him I loved him before he left. He thought he'd be nice and slip out early."
"He knows. He'll be back. We'll try to find something."

The door creaked open late in the night. Causing both residents to jump up from the couch. Sirius and Renee brandished their wands, pointing them in the direction of the intruder. Remus Lupin raised his arms in defence. He had bruises littering his face and his clothes had been ripped. Renee jumped into her boyfriend's arms, making him wince in return. "Where have you been? It's been eight days." She pulled him to the couch, sending Sirius to fetch the first aid kit.
"Got lost in Epping Forest, love. It was a rough transformation." He brushed the hair out of her face, leaning closer to fill the gap. Renny reciprocated, kissing him quickly so that they didn't get distracted. She pushed away slightly, giving him a look.
"Is that where Dumbledore has been sending you? I thought you weren't allowed to say that." The man shrugged, pulling her to him once more. He was desperate to feel her lips again. He craved the electric touch.
"Here, Moony. We thought we lost you." Sirius handed him a cloth, interrupting their closeness. Remus nodded to his friend, wiping his face off. Without the dirt covering it, Renee could get started on applying the pastes. There weren't many scratches and each one was small and shallow. Nothing like the scar that ran across his nose. Renee excused herself to make some food for them.
"Thank you, will you be staying?" Remus asked Sirius, noticing the cat in his arms now. Sirius gave Debra to the werewolf. Knowing that holding her usually helped calm his nerves when he got back from his missions. The werewolf looked down at the feline now perched in his lap. She eyed him back, not used to the smells lingering on him. Debra hopped off him, twisting herself between Sirius' legs, not taking her stare from him.
"Of course, I moved in. I'm not going anywhere." Sirius watched him now, with the same intensity as the cat.
"Sorry as I said before, it was a rough transformation. When did you move in?" He scratched the back of his neck. Leaning onto the couch to get comfortable.
"What do you mean? I've lived with you since we graduated." Sirius lied, backing away from the man. "I think you need to rest, my darling. I'll go help our girlfriend in the kitchen."
"Siri, what's the matter?" Renee asked as he pushed her back into the room. She tried to glance around the wall to see her boyfriend. Sirius hushed her, placing a finger on her lips.
"That is not Moony. I don't know who it is but it's not him." He whispered, pointing to the general direction of the living room.
"How do you know?" She asked as she wiped the phantom of their lips on her own. Shivering at the thought of kissing anyone but her boyfriend.
"First of all—I have accompanied him on one of his rough transformations, and he gets a lot more than a couple of scratches and bruises. Second, I said I lived here and he didn't immediately tell me to pack up my suitcase and leave. And lastly, I implied that we are a throuple and he didn't kill me on the spot." Renee shook her head in disbelief of Sirius' reasons but knew he was onto something. "Not to forget the way Debra was acting. She loves him way too much. Only loves Prongs more than him."
"What do we do?" Sirius thought for a moment, leaning forward to see 'Remus' looking around the living room. At pictures and figurines.
"You go tell Mad-Eye and I'll try and get him to kiss me or something." Sirius would suggest something like that. Renee rolled her eyes at him.
"I'm not leaving you here with whoever that is. I'll just send him a patronus." The Black nodded, stepping away and into the living room. Renee listened to them chatting and quietly stepped outside to send off her owl patronus. "Moody, come quick. We think someone is impersonating Remus."
When Renee got back into the house, she spotted the men seated at the kitchen table. The impersonator was chatting about Order business and Sirius was deflecting the best he could. Remus stood once he spotted Renny, bringing her into an embrace. She returned it, knowing whoever it was could be dangerous. "You should shower. Then we'll create a report for your transformation."
"Will you be joining me?" He asked, pulling her closer. Sirius intervened standing behind the woman and making eye contact with the man.
"Sorry Love, but you know I get her on weekends." The werewolf look-alike moved away from the two, nodding. Remus left them to wander the house.
"Muffliato," she lowered her wand, tucking it into her pyjama pants, "they're going to get suspicious if Moody doesn't show up soon," Ren whispered, despite having just cast the silencing charm. Sirius nodded, rubbing his hands up and down her arms. She couldn't see him but she knew he was concerned. If that's not Remus Lupin, then where is he?
