Not all relationships last longer than we expected. Some ended in good way, some ended in bad way. Some didn't last longer for a bad reason, some didn't last longer for a good reason.

If you're lucky enough, your relationship might turn into something that would bring an impact to your life.

Which is marriage.

Yes, marriage. Where two people who love each other dearly and decided to take their relationship to a next level, by having each other by their side till death. Possibly. If their life span is long enough.

If you're more lucky enough, you'll be granted with offspring. Which people see it as a blessing. But some did not want the blessing, probably because too much responsibilities that they had to carry.

This also includes one of Akademiya's partners, which is Kaveh and Alhaitham.

They have taken their relationship to a next level, but it didn't last long enough.
Both were too stressed over work and miscommunication between them that made their relationship break in despair.

This wouldn't had happened if only Alhaitham show a bit mercy towards Kaveh and Kaveh understood Alhaitham's situation.

But both of them couldn't read each other, as if both of them were not made for each other. They both were made for each other, but there is something that prevent them from being together.

Honest.

Alhaitham had a very hard time to be honest- he just can't. Even if he tried to, he just can't be honest. Ever since he was a child, he has been taught to not show real emotions to people. Every time he shows his real emotions to his parents, it would end up preventing him from showing them, by doing something to him that was not supposed to do to a child. This makes Alhaitham traumatized, causing him to stop showing his true emotions. Instead, bottling them up.

Kaveh wanted Alhaitham to he honest. He really hoped he was. If only Kaveh is smart enough to read Alhaitham like a book, it would be easier. If Alhaitham showed a bit mercy towards Kaveh in debts, insults, opinions and works, this wouldn't had happened. Both got problems, but couldn't solve them.

Even if both of them tried to fix their relationship, it probably won't work anyway. It's too late.

Kaveh had travelled overseas, which Alhaitham didn't know where his whereabouts. Alhaitham is now the Acting Grand Sage, making him way too focused with works that he didn't have time to search for Kaveh's locality.

Alhaitham did not wish to have this position due to a lot of responsibilities and works which is something he disliked the most. Like he said, he would love to keep his life all easy and comfortable.

But due to the complications, he decided to take the position as a way to forget Kaveh. He wants to forget all sweet things about him. He wants to forget all the feelings that he had towards him. He wants to forget all the time and words he spent to him.

He wants to forget him.

But does that work? No. It only bring him to a very bad toll, causing him to slumped in a very deep dejection. He couldn't accept the fact that he don't know Kaveh's status. Is Kaveh alive? Is he dead? Married again? Moved on?

These thoughts raced through his mind, endlessly. It droves him crazy.

Kaveh in the other hand, is in the same situation as Alhaitam's. He's been travelling all across Teyvat for a while now. He's been staying at Fontaine to learn more about architecture. Not gonna lie, it's not a bad idea to travel all across Teyvat, but it's not enough.
