---------------------------------------------
Days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months. It's been nearly a year ever since the fallout of the Sages and saving the God of Wisdom. Even so, the fallout brings a very huge impact towards Sumeru, all positive. It really is game changing.
But is it really that positive to everyone?
One of the heroes of Sumeru, Alhaitham of Haravatat's life has turned upside down. Since the Sages are now nowhere to be found, he is now the Grand Sage. He shouldn't take this position, but since there's nobody that fits the position, he has no other choice but to accept it and deal with it.
He hates the position. He wants to resign so badly. But he couldn't because of the lack of people that is worthy like Alhaitham to take the position. Alhaitham really hated it when he had to be the leader. This job makes him even busier.
This did not only make him all exhausted due to the work, but it also affected his boyfriend, Kaveh. They didn't get to spend time with each other. The only time they get to see each other is during the morning which is the time for them to get ready to work and at midnight, the time where both of them are slumped in exhaustion, causing them to only steal glances and give goodnight kisses to each other and end up sleeping.
Today, Alhaitham is extremely exhausted. He didn't eat enough, rest enough and didn't even get to see Kaveh. Meetings after meetings, paper works are piling up like a mountain on his table, matras and scholars keep coming in and out from his office, this gives him headache. All he want was a peaceful and comfortable life without people bothering him. What happened?
Good thing as a smart person he is, he managed to finish all the paper works on time and leave quite early. This means he gets to see the blonde as the architect always sleeps late, doing the usual.
As he walked towards their shared house, Alhaitham is playing with the keys, spinning them using his slender fingers. The keys are connected to a keychain with an initial 'A' on it, proving that it's Alhaitham's. It's a wood keychain that is carved by one of the greatest craftsman, Kaveh of Kshahrewar as a gift for their anniversary. The craftsman wants to carve an initial 'K's' instead he made a mistake, so he did initial 'A'. What a silly yet creative guy he is.
He finally reaches the house after a long walk and stretch his back a bit following a yawn. Alhaitham took the keys and open the door just to be greeted with a very nice smell. A smell of all spices mixed together, a smell of coffee hits his nose. It relaxes him. His foot reaches the doormat and he put his footwear on the shelves that is also created by Kaveh.
Alhaitham's POV.
My nose is filled with a lot of scent. A highly aromatic, often a unique, unmistakable aroma, even hours after it has been cooked scent.
It smells so good. Seems like Kaveh is cooking Kari. (it spelled as 'curry', but to make it a bit interesting i spelled it like how us malay do haha.)
As I walked towards the scent, I saw the person that made my day better. The love of my life is wearing a pink apron, decorated with flower patterns with a writing; 'Beauty' . His hair is tied up in a bun as his bangs as always, messy yet beautiful. It fits him a lot. He seems so focused on his quest that he doesn't realized my appearance behind him.
He turned around to grab a few utensils, his eyes widened when he saw me behind him, leaning against the wall while crossing my arms and legs, staring at him.
"Welcome home, Hayi dear."
He spoke, walking towards me while cupping my chin and kissing me after. Just a peck. He softly smiled as he walked towards the kitchen counter, grabbing a cup of coffee that seemed freshly made. It's a black coffee that he finds it disgusting because "It tastes so bitter, how can you drink it everyday?!". I don't know either.
"Here Hayi, a coffee for you."
I smiled back at him as I take the coffee from his hands. I took a small sip of it, swallowing them in a gulp. He looked at me with unsatisfied eyes.
"I still couldn't understand how you can drink them and swallowing it in a gulp. Doesn't it tastes bitter?" He asked while crossing his arms.
"It is, to be honest. But I guess it fits my taste."
I took another sip of the coffee and place the mug on the counter. I walked towards Kaveh and snuggle my head on his neck. He smells nice. A mix of cinnamon with a bit of warm scent. He smells so good.
"I miss you a lot, Kaveh. Forgive me." I spoke as I hugged him, tightly. He made a small yelp sound, it sounds so cute. A chuckle slipped out from his mouth. The laugh.. oh how I missed it so much.
"Don't apologize. I know how hard it is for you to lead the Akademiya. Those stubborn headed scholars and matras, how dare they make someone that is so perfect this stressed out?" Kaveh said as he played with my grey bangs, caressing them and tucked some of the strands behind my ear. He grabbed my face and started to pepper kisses on my face.
"You are cooking." I warned him. "Oh fuck I forgot! I am too excited to see you here!" Kaveh said as he ran towards the stove, stirring the pot. A small laugh slipped from my mouth as I walked towards our shared bedroom.
"I'm gonna take a shower for a while. Let's have dinner together."
(☆)
What a refreshing bath that was. I feel so cold, relaxed and a bit energetic from before. I dry up hair using the towel and put it to the place it belongs to. Suddenly, as I was wearing my sleep wear, a knock was heard.
"Haitham? Are you done?"
"Yes, yes I am."
"Can I come in?"
"Of course."
And by the reply, the door shuttered open. Kaveh leaned against the doorframe, looking at me. More like staring, actually.
"Can we eat dinner now?"
"Alright."
Kaveh walked in front of me and grabbed my wrist. He started to walk and lead me to the dinner table. The dinner table was served with food platters, a big bowl of Kari, and a candle. A scented candle.
"Kaveh.. what are these?" I said.
"Hehe, I know it's been hard for you these days. I want to make this dinner special because I might need to wait another proper dinner with you after months again. So, today I want to make everything special." Kaveh spoke as he get closer to me, hugging my waist and pulled me close.
"Kaveh.. I.."
"I love you Haitham." He said, staring at me deeply. Our lips connected after the staring contest.
"I love you too, Kaveh."
And then we had a nice dinner.
