"Our tactics don't just consist of Absolute Knights." Edgar mumbled with a smirk as both teams got in place to restart the match with KoQ's players all centred down the middle.
"What's that formation?" Kazemaru asked.
"They've thrown the wings out of their formation." James said, "what are they planning?"
"They probably want to attack through the middle." Kidou said as Japan tightened their formation to focus on the centre.
Philip passed to Edgar for the kickoff and when Gouenji approached, he passed it back to his defenders who were now out wide, Japan's players flooded to the wings but as they did, the defender passed back to Edgar who was the centre of three players who surrounded him in a triangle like formation with Jayden at the front and they had a massive blue aura that looked like a lance, "Invincible Lance".
James, Kazemaru and Kidou quickly ran back to the middle of the pitch but they were knocked aside by Invincible Lance. Kurimatsu, Tobitaka and Tsunami also tried to stop it but they were no match either.
The players around Edgar then separated as the aura dissipated as he was through on goal, he then kicked the ball and a green light shone from the ball, "Paladin Strike". Endou used "Hammer of Wrath" but the shot went in, putting Knights of Queen back in the lead again at 2-1 as the half-time whistle blew.
"You won't be able to stop my shots." Edgar said coldly, "victory is ours."
"I won't allow anymore goals conceded." Coach Kudou said inside the changing rooms, "Kidou, take control in the second half."
"Yes sir."
"Along with Fudou. Think about why both of you are on the pitch at the same time, James will be supporting both of you. Kazemaru, fall back to defence but join the attack when necessary, Kurimatsu you're off for Fudou. Tsunami, you're off for Kogure."
"You get what we need to do right?" Fudou asked once the team got back on the pitch.
"Yeah. We can't let Edgar shoot again." Kidou said.
"Good. Don't drag me down, Kidou."
"Same goes for you."
Knights of Queen took their kickoff with Edgar receiving the ball and immediately, Japan's players parted out to the wings leaving a huge gap at the middle of the pitch.
"That's an opportunity we can't pass down!" Edgar said as he raised his hand in the air, "Invincible Lance!"
Japan's players culminated at the edge of the box and prepared themselves for when the aura would dissipate.
"Get ready Tobitaka!" Fudou ordered.
As Edgar burst forward, he got put off by Kogure who charged at him and though he was able to avoid him, he was left prone to Tobitaka's "Shinkuuma" which got the ball. Japan then kept the ball with Kidou and Fudou ordering the player with the ball where to direct their passes, with three players surrounded each playmaker, "Dual Typhoon".
When there was an opening, Kidou ordered Gouenji and Someoka to make runs when Fudou had the ball but it was a decoy for Hiroto who received the ball from Fudou and used "Ryuusei Blade V2". Their goalkeeper raised his hand into the air and a long, pointy sword came up and lowered down and sliced the ball in half, "Galatyn".
"Inazuma Japan...." Edgar mumbled as Jayden stood by his side, "it seems that we need to reconsider our impression of them."
"But I swore that I would beat him!"
"I'm not saying we'll lose. It's just that they're better than I thought......"
Fudou brought the ball up the pitch and passed to Toramaru but Mr Stone Prison bore down on him and used "Stone Prison". However, Toramaru emulated Gouenji's play and jumped over the stone pillars.
7 swords appeared around the ball and Toramaru volleyed the ball and it went a light gold colour, "Gladius Arch", it got past "Galatyn" and equalised the score for Japan with not much time left.
"I can't lose to him again!" Jayden said as he dribbled forwards.
James ran in front of the ball and raised his hands up in the air a prism was in the air and a beam of light hit one of the corners and came out at a different angle at another side and it took the ball off him, "Refraction Prism". James spun past Paul and passed to Someoka who used "Dragon Slayer".
"Victory shall be ours - we will not lose!" Edgar shouted as he ran in front of the goal and raised his leg as the sword appeared again and smashed it down upon the blue ball and diverted the shot back using "Excalibur!" James ran to get into the shot's trajectory but it was too fast.
"Stop it Endou!" Kidou said.
How do I stop the shot......
"If you can't stop it, maybe you don't have to stop it."
"As long as the ball doesn't go in, it's not a goal!"
I see! As long as it doesn't go in the net, it doesn't count as a point! Endou thought as he jumped up and his hand glowed yellow and yellow sparks came out of his hand, he punched the ground and a yellow dome surrounded him and the ball crashed into it but slowly travelled up the dome and over the crossbar, "Ijigen The Hand".
Endou quickly got the ball and placed it on the ground for a goalkick, he kicked the ball to James, Jayden faced him but he flicked the ball over his head to Kidou who dribbled past two players and Edgar stayed in his spot, helping out the defence.
"I won't let you score! Upon the honour of the knights!"
Kidou and Fudou used "Killer Fields" and the ball shot past Edgar and went to Toramaru and Gouenji who used "Tiger Storm" to get past "Galatyn" and win the match for Japan.
"We did it everyone!" Endou shouted as he rushed out of goal to celebrate with everyone as the England players all fell to the floor except Edgar who stood there completely shocked.
"That was a good game, Edgar." James smiled as he put out his hand.
"Indeed it was." Edgar nodded as they shook hands, "well done."
"All things forgiven?"
"Of course, it's quite ignorant of me to only realise it from a football match." Edgar said, "anyway, you've made good friends in Japan."
"Thanks." James smiled before looking around, "Jayden's already left....
"He's not one to take a loss well."
"What did I do to make him so mad at me? Do you know?"
"I'm unaware of the reason as well, I never knew he could play football but he thought he may be able to play you and was dead-set on beating you, I was as well so I just let him on the team with no hassle. Anyway, go celebrate with your team, you deserve it. Hopefully we'll meet again in the finals."
"Sure!" James then made his way to Endou, "how did you think of that hissatsu technique?"
"I saw a man in the tunnel before our strategy meeting and he told me that maybe I don't have to stop the shot if I can't stop it."
"An old man gave you goalkeeping advice...... Endou, could he be him?"
"My grandpa.......?"
