Emma? I've never seen her befo-...... I....... I......
"Where are we going?" An excited young 3 year old James asked, holding the hands of his father and mother.
The man was a Moroccan with frizzy black hair and electric blue eyes while the woman was English with long, blonde hair and beautiful green eyes. The woman smiled at the boy whereas the man carried on looking forward with a frown etched on his face.
"Is it a surprise?" He asked again, skipping as he walked, he was getting really excited and blue ripples formed from his hands and started to spread. A blue outline was forming over the trio.
"Stop!" The man shouted in a whisper causing the ripples and the outline to disappear, "I've told you to stop that countless times."
"I-"
"You're going to cause us trouble by not having those freaky powers under control."
"He's only a child, how is he meant to know how to control them?" James' mum said, pleading in his stead, "especially when you refuse to try and train him..."
"Well he better find a way."
One Week Later
James held his stuffed teddy bear and stood behind the wall, peaking his head past it to get a look at the person who had been knocking on their door. His dad had gone to open the door and had told James to stay back but curiosity got the better of the young blue-haired boy.
"About the topic of your child." Emma said.
"I said no once and my answer will not change."
"You said you wanted to do something for me, right? This is the thing."
"I already gave you a choice and you declined it!"
"I'm not finished here. I'll be back one day."
Everything went dark and now there was a young James standing in a cot while his mum was smiling sadly beside him.
"Why does Daddy say that I different from everyone else?"
"You're unique. Everyone is unique, and your power is just part of what makes you unique."
"But why does he hate it when I do it?"
"He just wants to protect you. I'll try to talk to him, you just get some rest. It's going to be a long day tomorrow." The woman said as she kissed James on the forehead, turned the lights off and went downstairs to where a not-so-quiet conversation took place.
"I'll just have to show you!" The Moroccan yelled.
"No, leave him, please!"
The door flew open and the lights flicked back on and the man slammed his hands on the rim of the cot, "Show us then!"
James figured he was talking about the blue ripple thing but he didn't know how to activate it so he shook his head and held the stuffed bear closer to his chest, too scared to utter a single word.
"Please, leave him!" The woman pleaded as she tugged the man's shirt, but he was bigger and stronger than she was so all it was doing was angering him more but she didn't let up, "even if he does have telekinesis, why are you being so harsh on him? What's the problem?"
"We'll all be in trouble! The same thing that happened to his brother will happen to him!" He shouted before gripping her arm, "I didn't want to have to do this."
